You should also make an insert in the form of a cutting edge of a knife and a width of the same eight millimeters. It will be sewn into the seam so that the knife does not cut the threads. After that, the skin is softened with water and stitched. The bend can be made thinner in advance so that the knife does not hang in the sheath. When stitching, it is worth leaving a small area at the end not wired - for water drainage. After that, the skin is molded with a knife, treated with cream, wax or skin paint. Do-it-yourself wooden scabbard is not so difficult. They can consist of two halves and a leather strap or tie cord. To begin with, each of the halves is individually cut out. They should be made so that one half is inserted into the other, but both can "ride" relative to each other. The inner surface of the parts is machined under the knife. He must freely enter and exit the sheath. After which the blanks are polished and varnished. It’s best to pick a tree to match the color of the knife handle.
