Where is Vereshchagino located? Perm Territory, Vereshchaginsky district. It is located in the southwest of the mentioned municipality and has the status of an urban settlement. The position of Vereshchagino with respect to major roads is the intersection of the Vladivostok-Moscow railway line and the Siva-Bolshaya Sosnova highway linking different regions of the region.
History
Vereshchagino (Perm Territory) was founded in 1898. The need for it arose during the construction of railway lines between Perm and Kotlas. Near the village of Gubanovo created Ocherskaya. This name was chosen because the railway was to be laid through the city of the same name according to the original design. However, the Ochersky plant was not interested in this, and adjustments were made to the plan. In 1904, the name of the station was changed to Voznesenskaya.
The village, which was built near the station, was first named Aleksandrovsky in honor of the erected church. With the coming to power of the Soviets, it was renamed Krasno-Vereshchagino. In 1924, the village became a district center.
In 1916, the station was renamed Vereshchagino (Perm Territory). This name was not chosen by chance. During the war with Japan, the famous domestic artist V.V. Vereshchagin stayed here . The status of a city near a settlement appeared only in 1942.
The history of renaming the station (and settlement) is strange and confusing. There are many versions regarding the number of titles. There are references to the following of them:
- Ocherskaya.
- Ascension.
- Vereshchagino.
- Krasnoe-Vereshchagino.
- Gubanovo. Because near the station were the villages of Lower and Upper Gubanovo.
- Bald Mountain. By the name of a prominent hill.
- Alexandrovskaya.
Population
Currently, the population is 22.8 thousand people. Almost ⅔ of them are citizens, most of whom live in the district center. In Vereshchagino, the number of women (54%) is greater than men (46%). The townspeople work primarily in the engineering industry and light industry.
Vereshchagino (Perm Territory) is a very polluted city. The amount of hazardous emissions into the atmosphere is high. In the city center, the maximum permissible concentrations of dust and gas are exceeded by 2-3 times. Affects a large number of industrial plants.

The coat of arms of the city of Vereshchagino (Perm Territory) is a silver-colored steam locomotive, above which two brushes of gold are depicted. All this is on a green field. From under the steam engine go 2 strips of silver color. The listed symbols indicate that Vereshchagino owes its origin to the railway, as well as the construction of a depot for steam locomotives. The settlement was given its modern name thanks to the famous battle painter V.V. Vereshchagin (1842-1904). Above the shield is a crown with three towers.

It is located at the intersection of roads and railways, on the border of districts in the western part of Perm Territory.
