The interior design is quite original and is dedicated to ancient Greek mythology. Art. Parnas metro station is decorated with stained glass windows, authored by stained glass artist S. The stained-glass windows are made in a combined mosaic technique: their elements are either made of colored glass or painted with special paint.

The main stained glass window depicts the goddess Nick. The large tympanum is decorated with the image of the chariot of Helios, two small tympans located on the sides of the station - images of the abduction of Europe and the Argonauts.

The very first project of the Parnas metro station was made back in 1991, but it was rejected. In the updated project of 1995, it was proposed to use new composite materials in the construction . In 2005, they made a final decision on the construction of the station. Architects Pavlova M.V., Khilchenko V.G., Romashkin-Timanov N.V. urgently redid the 1995 station design. Under the final project, the underpasses were replaced by overpasses, elevators for people with disabilities and emergency exits were also added.

The Parnas station was to be built shortly after the start of operation of the Udelnaya - Prospekt Enlightenment section. The dates of its opening were postponed due to the protracted construction of the Shuvalovo-Ozerki housing estate, which it was supposed to serve. December 22, 2006 Parnas was opened as a part of the existing section of Prospekt Enlightenment - the depot Vyborgskoye.

The station was named after the historical district of the same name. According to the project, it was planned to be called Parnasskaya, but in the end they got Parnassus.
