The swan is a symbol of nobility and spiritual purity, fidelity and love. Try to make a figurine or decoration in the form of this bird with your own hands. It will be a wonderful gift for the celebration of the birthday, bride or couple, celebrating the anniversary of life together.
Brooch from beads
A brooch in the form of a swan made of beads will become an unusual accessory and complement the wedding outfit. This decoration can be made in many ways, but the sketch always underpins the work. You can take an idea for it on the Internet or a book (magazine) or come up with it yourself. Having chosen the picture you like, transfer its outline to the paper and cut out the template. Then prepare the necessary materials:
- acrylic paints;
- acrylic lacquer;
- white beads;
- beads;
- elongated sequins;
- needles;
- pencil;
- mount for brooches;
- filler;
- bugles;
- rhinestones;
- white felt;
- white cotton threads;
- glue.
The first stage of the workshop “Swan from Beads” consists of transferring the picture to a felt blank. Do this with a pencil, draw wings separately. and sew the details together to create a voluminous base for the brooch. If you have large rhinestones or other decorative elements, start working with them:
- Sew a large crystal in the center of the workpiece and place small beads or white beads around it.
- Moving along the edge of the figure of a swan, begin to sew on sequins, in shape resembling the plumage of a bird. One layer is required in the front of the body and two layers on the tail.
- Bug out the wings, and lay the white beads on the neck.
Brooch Making Options
There are several ways to design a figure. The felt surface is sutured in whole or in part. In the second case, embroider the rest of the space with a double cotton thread. After this, it remains only to draw the eyes and beak of the bird, and then cover the brooch with a fully dried acrylic varnish in the places where the paint was applied. If you don’t feel like drawing, make your eyes and beak out of beads or beads.
You can use another option for creating a brooch: draw a template on paper and place a piece of transparent plastic on top , and then stick the beads strung on a thread along the contour. Having completely filled the blank, it remains only to cut the swan out of plastic. In the same way a pendant is made by attaching a loop on top.
Product assembly
Assembling a brooch consists of the following steps:
- Having completely dried the swan from the beads, cut the excess felt and according to the template, prepare another blank for the back of the product. It can be made of felt or leather. Make two cuts on it and insert the mount. You can glue these places with glue for better fixation.
- Place some filler inside the brooch. Fill it and the beak with a thin needle.
- Connect both parts of the product and carefully sew along the edge with cotton thread. If the usual seam does not seem beautiful to you, use beads or beads to decorate the edging.
The product is ready! It can be called the perfect gift for the bride. A brooch in the form of a swan made of beads in the photo from the wedding will look very gentle and unusual.
Beadwork
To create a gift for a wedding or anniversary of marriage, you can do weaving a swan from beads. To create a three-dimensional figure you will need:
- 100 g of white beads;
- 30 g of clear beads;
- two black beads for the eyes;
- red beads for beak;
- thin and thick wire;
- bead needles;
- scissors.
In order to make a swan from beads, in this case two techniques will be used: a three-dimensional tow and a parallel stringing. First you need to make a neck from white beads. It is done like this:
- 5 beads are collected on the wire, and it is twisted into a ring.
- So weave about 10 rows.
- To shape the bird’s head, two beads are strung into each next row and 5 more rows are woven in this way.
- Then you need to do the eyes. To do this, two black beads are strung on the sides of the cord, and the tourniquet continues on five beads.
- The beak is woven of red beads in several rows, the last of them is pulled along the edge.
- The total length of the bundle is approximately 20 cm. Then, a wire frame is placed inside the workpiece, the end of which is fixed with a loop.
Body and wings for a volume swan
The plumage is made of transparent beads, and it starts from the base of the neck. An arc of 3 pieces is attached to each bead, in the next row - of 4, and then in each row the number of beads increases by 1 piece until 1/3 of the body is ready.
The rest of the body is braided through one bead. To fill the voids on the sides, white beads strung on arcs are used. It is easier for beginners to use the bean swan scheme (step-by-step photo) if some steps are not entirely clear.
Volume swan with plasticine base
Another option for creating a snow-white bird from beads: to make a blank of plasticine pasted with paper using the papier-mâché technique, and to make wings from separate feathers.
The blank is sheathed in white beads, like an Easter egg, but in the front you need to leave room for the neck. Then you need to make wings. They are cut according to the pattern and decorated with feathers woven using the technique of daffodil petals:
- To do this, three beads are strung on the wire, two of which become the second row.
- Then, using parallel lowering, 4-5 rows are woven.
- On one wing you need to make about 20-25 feathers.
- They are sewn to the workpiece with thread, and the wing itself is glued to the base.
The neck can be weaved in the same way as in the previous version.
Present the finished swan from beads to the newlyweds or decorate your apartment with them, as a symbol of love and fidelity.
