Druskininkai is the largest balneological center in Lithuania with a unique microclimate. In the second half of the 19th - at the beginning of the 20th century, it was known as one of the most aristocratic resorts in the Baltic States, and a place where cultural life was in full swing throughout the tourist season. Today, the traditions of those times are reviving, and the sights of Druskininkai and the surrounding area make the rest on the banks of the Neman even more interesting.
Church
Talking about the sights of Druskininkai and its environs (see photo below), one cannot ignore the local church of the Virgin Mary Shkaplernaya (address: 10 Vilnius Alley). It was built from 1912 to 1930 according to the project of architect S. Schiller and is a magnificent building in the Neo-Gothic style, reminiscent of the church of St. Anne in Vilnius.

Three kilometers from the city of Druskininkai is the small village of Nauyasodes. There is the famous A. Cesnulis Park in Lithuania. One of the most interesting objects of this attraction is a large 4-story windmill, which is also a museum, where the most valuable wooden sculptures by Antanas Cesnulis are exhibited. A few dozen works of the master can be seen in the park directly in the open.
Aquapark
One of the most popular attractions of the resort is considered a water park with an area of ​​20,000 square meters. m. Due to this facility in Druskininkai there is no beach. Usually, guests of the water park do not limit their visit to several hours, as there are equipped pools with a variety of attractions, warm fountains, animators performances that allow organizing leisure activities for children of different ages. The highlight of the water park (address: Vilnius Alley 13,) is an artificial beach with ultraviolet light, where you can sunbathe no worse than in any beach resort.
Orthodox Church
Interested in old sights? Druskininkai is the city where the temple of the Icon of the Mother of God is located (address: Liberty Boulevard, 2). It was built on the basis of a private house in 1865 with money and thanks to the efforts of the vice-governor of Grodno, Jacob Rozhnov. This wooden structure is painted white and is decorated with five graceful domes.
Environmental attractions (Druskininkai): Forest Echo Museum
At the address Druskininkai, st. M.K. ÄŚiurlionis, 102 is a picturesque park. The Forest Echo Museum is located on its territory, where you can see wooden sculptures and utensils, as well as interesting crafts made from amber and other natural materials. It is dedicated to the nature of Lithuania and occupies a house resembling the dwelling of a forest ruler from an old folk tale. Children will especially enjoy visiting the museum, as its creators tried to create an atmosphere of magic and miracles. Its surroundings are considered a nature reserve; business activities are prohibited there. This decision allowed to increase the population of forest birds and positively affected the environmental situation.
City History Museum
On Čiurlionis Street (Building 59), guests of the resort can also visit another local attraction. Druskininkai and its inhabitants are grateful to its creator Petras Viskinis, who did everything possible to make a museum appear in the town telling about its history. The visitors are presented with expositions dedicated to the first doctor Druskininkai, events that took place in Lithuania during the interwar period, etc. The museum occupies the old Villa Linksma, which was built at the beginning of the century near Lake Druskonis. Since 2001, concerts and lectures have been held here, and “Druskininkai Serenades” are held on weekends.
Schwenbre
If you go on vacation to the Druskininkai resort, sights and entertainment can be found in the surrounding area. In particular, not far from the border with Belarus (5 km from the city), the ethnographic village of Schwendure is located. This settlement was founded at the beginning of the 17th century, and the traditions of the Lithuanian people are carefully preserved there. Guests of Schwendubre are always eager to see the huge boulder, nicknamed the Devil's Stone. According to an old legend, Satan wanted to block the Neman with him, but dropped it because of his heavy weight.
Museum of Soviet sculptures in the open
Three decades ago, in the territory once occupied by the Soviet Union, there was not a single city and village where there would be no monument, or at least a bust of Lenin. In addition, as a traditional “decoration” of the urban landscape, images of workers, collective farmers, pioneers, associates of the “leaders of the world proletariat”, “father of peoples” and others were used. The sculptures are located on a vast territory of 20 hectares and are adjacent to installations that depict the Gulag camps . The museum has a zoo and a small exhibition of military equipment. Snow Arena Complex
Unfortunately, most tourists know only the “summer” Druskininkai. Sights, photos of which you see in the article, can be examined in the winter, especially since the Snow Arena complex operates at the resort. It can also be visited all year round. It covers an area of ​​more than 25 thousand square meters. meters. By the way, you can indulge in winter entertainments there and in the hottest summers, since Snow Arena is one of the few closed complexes of this type in the world in Eastern Europe.
One adventure park
At 200 meters from the water park is another place that is worth a visit after exploring other resort attractions. Druskininkai offers children and adults a wide variety of activities, including One Adventure Park. There you can stroll along the "air" routes, which are laid at a height of up to 16 m between the crowns of trees and are intended for vacationers of different ages.
Although most visitors to the park are children, fans of extreme entertainment will be interested in One Adventure Park. In particular, they are offered the attraction "Flight of Tarzan" through Nemunas, by participating in which you can get a large dose of adrenaline and experience unforgettable sensations.
