The current problem of limited resources is becoming increasingly relevant. The needs of people are increasing, and this is due to the increase in population, the development of science, the emergence of new technologies and many other factors. Therefore, a situation arose when many resources, mostly non-renewable, became less accessible. The dilemma that forms the limitlessness of needs and limited resources, and mankind is trying to solve.
To date, many minerals have almost exhausted their reserves. But even those that are in sufficient numbers are not endless. All the benefits that modern society needs are demanding more and more resources. There is a real problem of limited resources and even their lack.
For the production of economic goods, various types of resources are used. The most important of them include natural factors. This is what the planet and the environment give us. This includes water, land, air and climatic conditions.
Labor resources are also necessary for the normal functioning of society and the production of economic goods. This is one of the main factors in the production process.
There are also production resources represented by the means of production and the money supply.
Information can also be attributed to production resources.
Considering these categories, it can be noted that some of them are quite easy to restore or reproduce. But many resources, especially climatic ones, can be irretrievably destroyed.
Therefore, the problem of limited resources has become the most acute.
Resources are divided into two categories: reproducible and non-reproducible. It depends on the ability to replenish their stocks. Some resources are rare, that is, they are found in limited quantities. It also creates a shortage in their use.
Some resources can be replenished, but it takes a lot of time and sometimes the help of people.
For example, land resources can be restored. The problem of limited resources here exists only because of the geographical features of the region. As a result of irrational use of land, soil properties deteriorate. In this case, agricultural techniques are used to restore them. But if this problem is not solved in time, then the land can be destroyed and become ineffective.
Of particular difficulty is mining. Old deposits have exhausted their reserves. For example, the reserves of oil that is produced and used in large quantities have been significantly reduced. New deposits of this mineral must be sought at great depths, which complicates its extraction. Moreover, this natural resource is not reproduced and an alternative should be sought to eliminate shortages.
Limited resources and limitless needs poses new challenges for humanity. First of all, this is the rational use of existing potential. It should also open up and develop new sources of resources necessary for the normal existence of society.
