If you look at the map of the Ryazan region, it is noticeable that, except for the regional center, there are no other major cities. This differs from neighboring regions. From the regional center, you can get different means of transport to the opposite end of the region - to the city of Sasovo. The distance from Ryazan to Sasovo is 200 kilometers.
Bus ride
The central bus station is located in Ryazan on the Moscow highway. Five buses leave from Sasovo almost every day:

- 02:08 and 02:58. A rare passenger train to Ulyanovsk and an ambulance to Karaganda alternate. The latter is formed by the railways of Kazakhstan.
- 05:02, 05:12 or 05:36. Named train from St. Petersburg to Samara. Civil, but expensive.

Car trip
From Ryazan you need to go southeast along the E-30 highway and move along it to the city of Shatsk, where you need to turn north, onto the R-124 highway. It leads directly to the city center. It’s real to travel such a route in 2.5-3 hours, depending on the weather and the traffic load.
What to see in Sasovo?
Sights of Sasovo are hardly widely known. This is not Suzdal or Pereyaslavl-Zalessky.
The city preserved the cathedral of the beginning of the XIX century. If you drive from Sasovo 18 kilometers to the village of Kargashino, you can see the remains of the estate in the Gothic style.
In addition, it is worth paying attention to such objects:
- Museum of Local Lore.
- Museum of Russian Song.
- Museum of the flight school.
- Unexpected for these places, a monument to Ernest Hemingway, as well as railway workers and pilots (An-2).
