How to get to Domodedovo. Metro and other options

Recently, more and more big problems for Muscovites and numerous guests of the capital arise on the way to Domodedovo International Airport. Metro usually helps to overcome only half the distance to the country's largest aviation harbor. And the numerous traffic jams at the entrances to the Kashirskoye Highway every time cast doubt on the opportunity to catch your flight. The situation becomes especially tense at peak times.

Moscow - Domodedovo. Metro and Aeroexpress

The only guaranteed way to catch a flight is to use Aeroexpress. He leaves for Domodedovo airport from the platform of the Paveletsky station with an interval of half an hour. Travel time is just over 40 minutes. The railway does not depend on traffic jams. The cost of one trip is 340 rubles. It is only the fact that for many passengers it is inconvenient to consider this way of traveling to the airport as ideal. It’s not much easier to come to Paveletsky Station than to Domodedovo Airport itself. The metro station is located quite far from it. It misleads some guests of the capital with its name. Not everyone realizes that this is not an airport, but only a transfer on the way to it. But it is the Domodedovo metro station of the Zamoskvoretskaya line that is the final stop of several public transport routes that provide passenger transportation around the clock in the direction of the airport.

To Domodedovo Airport from the city center

A significant portion of passengers travel through Moscow in transit. Most often they find themselves on Komsomolskaya Square. After they reached the capital, they will have to make their way to Domodedovo. The Komsomolskaya metro station on the Koltsevaya Line allows direct transfers to Paveletsky Train Station for Aeroexpress. Shuttle taxis and an express bus depart from the same metro station in the direction of the airport.

Will the metro arrive at Domodedovo airport?

This issue has been discussed for several decades. It was relevant in Soviet times. And since then, the transport accessibility of the airport has changed only for the worse. There are several options for laying transport communications in the direction of Domodedovo. Metro can be built here, in particular, by continuing to openly advance to the south of the Zamoskvoretskaya line. But recently, the option of the so-called light metro has been considered as more preferable. In fact, this is the same train, only with a very small departure interval and converted carriages . This option is much cheaper. But its huge minus for passengers will be the fact that the light metro is not integrated into the general scheme of the Moscow metro. If such a project will be accepted for execution, then at the Paveletsky station will have to change to the Circle line, passing through the turnstile. Of course, such a prospect cannot please either Muscovites or guests of the capital. But no decision has yet been made.
