Youth

John Bernard Larrockett was born on November 25, 1947. The future popular actor was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. His mother, Berta, worked as a salesman, and father Edgar John Larrockett served in the U.S. Navy. From an early age, John was fond of creativity, he played the clarinet and saxophone, and also took acting lessons. In high school, Larrockett and his friends organized a rock band.

The young man could not imagine life without adventure and travel, and in order to be able to see the world, he joined the US Navy. Returning home at the end of his service in the Navy, John Larrockett sets himself the task of getting on the radio as a presenter. He is working hard on his speech to get rid of the New Orleans accent, and soon gets a job at the local FM station as a disc jockey.

First roles

In 1973, John went to try his luck in Hollywood. John Larrockett gained his first experience working in a big movie by reading the voice-over narration in Tob Hooper's film "The Texas Massacre" (1974). At that time, the actor’s name was not indicated in the credits, but when in 2003 director Marcus Nispel made a remake of the picture, and then in 2006 Jonathan Libesman decided to create the beginning of the trilogy “Texas Massacre: The Beginning”, Larrockett was again invited to work as a narrator for overs. John Larrockett received his fifth Emmy Award in 1998 for his role as the mentally ill Joey Haris. This extravagant character in the TV series “Practice” for three years mocked his lovers. Larrockett tried as accurately as possible to reproduce on the screen the contradictory and eccentric image of his hero. This time John received an award in the nomination “Best Guest Actor in a Drama Series”.

In 2005, he starred as Mike McBride, a lawyer who reveals crimes in the detective series McBride.

Thanks to his impressive work in Practice, John Larrockett was invited to the television film Boston Lawyers (2007) for the role of attorney Carl Sack. This serious, highly moral person, adhering to the ethical standards of his profession, is the exact opposite of Dan Fielding in The Night Court.
