Dolphinarium in Novosibirsk is planned to open in February 2015. About 400 million rubles will be spent on the construction.
The construction of this building began in 2014, by the end of which it is already planned to complete the construction of the dolphinarium in Novosibirsk.
Already now, between the zoo and the arboretum, construction work is in full swing. The approximate completion date is December 30, 2014. The facility will be commissioned in January, and already in February the first visitors will be able to visit the dolphinarium in Novosibirsk. The schedule of performances, however, is not yet known. It can be recognized before opening, in a few days.
What will we see in the future institution
According to the project, in this institution there will be only nine pools: one for performance, one for dolphin therapy, several for service and rest of animals. The number of seats in the auditorium is 650.
From the representatives of the fauna we will see: six bottlenose dolphins, one sea lion, five fur seals and six beluga whales. It is also reported that in the winter pavilion on the second floor there will be an animal enclosure and a botanical garden with artificial waterfalls.
On the territory of the dolphinarium, it is planned to build a three-story cafe for visitors, which will be equipped with an elevator for the disabled. And at the zoo there will be several pavilions - for giraffes, for penguins and for little monkeys. The cost of the entire project will be more than 400 million rubles. Even the ticket price is already known - 300 rubles.
Opponents of construction
The dolphinarium in Novosibirsk has become the focus of public attention because of the conflict erupting between opponents of construction and those who believe that the city really needs it.
Animal advocates argue that the enclosed space harms dolphins, and because the facility is far from the sea, it will be impossible to maintain the living conditions necessary for marine life in the pools. In response, the director of the zoo said that the most modern American equipment will be used in the pools, and nothing threatens the animals. He also said that marine life in dolphinariums is even longer than in natural conditions, while reproducing well.
The opinion of knowledgeable people about the construction of the institution
Olga Shilo, deputy director of the Novosibirsk Zoo, also spoke in defense of the construction. Dolphins like to communicate with people, especially with children, they live well and even breed in captivity. In zoos in North America, for example, four generations of dolphins have already been born. And the oldest of them is 54 years old.
The dolphinarium project is also supported by the department of Rosprirodnadzor. We will be able to see animals that we don’t see under normal conditions, and there will also be medical pools for children in the dolphinarium. This, without a doubt, is important for the inhabitants of Novosibirsk.
With all due respect to the feelings of animal defenders, I would like to note that the dolphinarium in Novosibirsk is a unique project that will decorate the city and bring a lot of joy to our children. Thanks to this construction, the whole territory of the Zaeltsovsky Bor will benefit, in addition, this will contribute to the development of the arboretum and the botanical garden.
The green area of 1.2 hectares will be a truly attractive part of the city.
