Disco is a fun, joyful and festive event for all people, and not only for young people, but also for mature ones.
Many middle-aged men and women remember well discos from the time of their youth - invariably funny, noisy, with their favorite music. And, of course, the luminous ball for a disco under the ceiling is absolutely irreplaceable. Many people want at least for the holidays to return the old time and have fun, as before. And there are many people who want to show the main entertainment of their youth to the younger generation. Only now the most important component - the disco ball - is now far from being found in every club, and the organization of a theme party ("disco of the eighties") will cost those wishing to shake the old days quite expensive.
But in order to have fun with loved ones, it is not at all necessary to go to the club. You can arrange such a disco in your own house, in the office, and at school (of course, during non-working and non-academic hours). This requires volunteer assistants and a little imagination.
In this article, those who want to return to the past will learn how to make a disco ball with their own hands in a couple of hours from improvised materials. It is so simple that even a child can handle it.
So, for this craft you will need:
1. Mirror or old CDs.
2. Fishing line.
3. Glass cutter.
4. A paste or PVA glue.
5. Liquid nails.
6. Newspapers.
7. The balloon.
First of all, you need to inflate a balloon (it must turn out round) and tie it tight so that it does not come down in any case.
Next, the resulting frame is tied with fishing line. In order for the future disco ball to hang evenly, the thread should go around it along imaginary meridians. At the top you need to tie a neat loop.
After the preparatory measures, papier-mâché is made. There are two possible options.
Firstly, you can cook a paste. To do this, bring the water to a boil (five parts) and mix it with flour (one fourth part) diluted in one part of the water. This mixture should boil for a couple of minutes and cool.
Secondly, you can do it easier and mix regular PVA glue with water.
The next step is to cut newspapers (or any other soft paper, not magazines) into strips. They must be moistened, but not very strongly, in glue, then applied to the inflated ball. An important nuance - it must be completely dry.
The number of layers of paper is not limited: the more there will be, the stronger the disco ball.
Next, you need to wait until the papier-mâché dries. At this stage, you can pierce the ball and pull it out, but in this case it does not need to be tied with a fishing line - it should be fixed on a dried frame, and even when pasting it is necessary to leave a hole.
After that, you need to prepare the most important element - a mirror or disk (or you can combine them). The material must be cut into small - not more than a square centimeter - squares. This is done using a glass cutter. Care must be taken here - the pieces of the mirror are very sharp, and therefore the work surface must be covered with a cloth.
And the last stage is gluing the squares on the surface of the ball and hanging it.
By building such a decorative element, you can prove that a good party is possible at home, and no modern light music for a disco is needed!
