It was here that childhood and the mature years of the great artist passed. The house was founded by his father in 1830 with the money of his grandfather. Today the estate is a museum of art. Anyone can come and see first-hand the situation, the arrangement of rooms and exhibits that reflect Surikov’s work and life.
One of the many rooms served as a workshop; portraits, sketches and landscapes were preserved there. The museum’s collection contains more than 100 works, including “Portrait of a Doctor Chistyakov”, “Yenisei, Autumn of 1909”, “Boyar Morozova” and much more. Portraits of his family (mother, daughters, brother, sisters, wife) are also presented. The collection also preserved personal belongings of Vasily Surikov.
Pillars
