Who doesn't like to travel? Someone is eager for America, someone is drawn to Asia, someone is for Europe, and someone likes to travel around our country. One way or another, every tourist will eventually have favorite places where he wants to return again and again. Moreover, they do not have to be in the ranking of “The most famous capitals of the world”: each tourist has his own preferences.
And which cities are the most popular in Europe? A survey of a large number of respondents helped determine which city, according to Russians, is Europe’s most famous capital.
Correspondents of the TV show "100/1" ("One Hundred to One") interviewed a large number of citizens of the Russian Federation. They asked people the same question: "Which city is the most famous European capital?" It is worth noting that the opinions of citizens were divided.
Below are the most popular answers to the question of what is the most famous capital in Europe.
Paris

Probably almost every resident of Russia wants to visit magnificent Paris. The capital of France is a magnet that attracts not only lovers, but also all the inhabitants of both our country and the whole world. Paris seems to be crazy. Despite the high (and for some absolutely unacceptable) euro exchange rate, not at all ideal weather and a frequent headache, people come here again and again. Although it’s not at all difficult to guess what attracts tourists from all over the world to this European city: people come here for first-class service in restaurants (with Michelin stars), for successful shopping (including sales) or to see the famous Parisian " Disneyland "and take a photo against the backdrop of the legendary Eiffel Tower. Although most Russian tourists admit that they go to Paris for sightseeing: the famous Louvre Museum, Orsay or Marmottan. There are a lot of reasons to visit this beautiful city. But the fact remains: for most Russians, Paris is the most famous capital of Europe.
Moscow
Oddly enough, the second most popular is the capital of the Russian Federation - the city of Moscow. As soon as residents and guests of the city call our capital! And the "Third Rome", and "non-rubber", and even affectionately - the "big village". Thanks to the quiet side streets of Zamoskvorechye, the atmosphere of the village resembles a village silence. Many tourists go traditionally to look at the Moscow Kremlin and Red Square, and now also at the famous Moscow City. Many respondents mentioned Kitay Gorod and the new modern Skolkovo science center. An exact list of all the sights of the city cannot be reproduced by any resident of the capital of Russia, or even by an art critic! The number of monuments, theaters and museums here is just off the charts! In a word, each resident or guest of the city finds his own in the capital.
London
The capital of Great Britain today is one of the most popular destinations. Tourists from all over the world rush to the heart of Britain, despite the significant high cost of excursion packages, coupled with quite modest accommodation facilities. Some interviewed respondents indicated that in order to see the royal guard, visit the Tower and hear the ringing of the Big Ben tower, they are ready to pay such a tangible amount. Other respondents said that the capital of Great Britain should be visited if only because London is the birthplace of the famous Sherlock Holmes.
Berlin
The fourth place in the number of respondents is Berlin. The capital of Germany, as well as the capital of Russia, is a city full of contrasts. Contrast is observed in everything: in architecture, history, literature. Among the main attractions of Berlin, the Russians would like to see the Berlin Wall (a reflection of post-war times), graffiti on the ruins and the legendary World Clock. Several people also noted the restaurant "Last resort", where Napoleon and Beethoven often dined at one time.
Rome
The final, 5th place ranking, goes to the capital of Italy and the ancient capital of the Roman Empire. Rome is a city "where all roads lead." So many attractions are concentrated here that tourists can wander the streets of the city for weeks, and still do not have time to see everything. That is why experienced travelers advise beginners to book a hotel not for a day or two, but at least for a week. The Russians admitted that in Rome, unlike many other cities in Europe, you can come endlessly. The historic city center is a world heritage of mankind. Among the surveyed residents of Russia, the majority noted that, as districts, they must see the New Center, the Vatican, Old Rome, the Northern Center and the Coliseum. Also, some Russians advised taking a walk along the streets of Trastevere, stopping at the art center de Kirco, visiting restaurants in Aventino Testacho and spending the night in San Lorenzo.
Other candidates were also nominated as the most popular European capital: for example, some respondents with the title of “Europe’s most famous capital” awarded the cities of Prague and Minsk, however, these European capitals won fewer votes, so they were not included in the list of “5 most popular European capitals” "
