Teletskoye Lake in Altai is often compared with Lake Baikal. Despite the conventionality of such comparisons, similar features in these natural objects are easy to notice. First of all, they are similar in depth and expressiveness of nature on the coast surrounding them. Sights of Lake Teletskoye adorn all the promotional products of tourist structures offering trips to the Altai Mountains. This mountain pond is grandiose and unique. Teletskoye Lake is located in a huge hollow between two dividing ridges. It is located at a considerable distance from the main lines of communication, it is not so easy to get to it. This circumstance protects well the natural attractions of Lake Teletskoy from the influence of various anthropogenic factors. People are sent here mainly in search of vivid impressions, and not for the development of natural resources.
Teletskoye lake. Attractions on its shores.
This is the largest body of water not only in Altai, but also throughout southern Siberia. By the volume of the purest fresh water, the lake is second only to Baikal. This is due to the peculiarities of its hydrological regime. More than seventy large and small rivers and streams fall into this mountain basin, the largest river is the Chulyshman. And only the Biya River flows from the lake in its northern part . This ensures a constant circulation of water, and this explains its unique purity and transparency. The bottom is visible at a considerable depth off the coast, and the maximum depth of the lake is 325 meters. The coastline is unique in that it extends over a long stretch into the water by sheer cliffs. It looks very impressive. A simple attempt to list at least the main attractions of Lake Teletskoye, the most expressive rocks, cliffs and canyons at the confluence of the tributaries into it causes difficulties. There are so many here.

It is generally accepted that the Kishte and Korba waterfalls, as well as
the Chulyshman
River Delta, are considered to be touristly significant objects. These places are pretty beautiful, but not enough to purposefully move towards them without looking around. It is absurd to look for the sights of Teletskoye Lake in some local places on its coast. It in itself is a unique attraction of Altai and Siberia. And from the central regions of the country, the path here is not close.
Altai, Lake Teletskoye. Tourist infrastructure.
