Necessary materials for embroidery unicorn cross-stitch
To embroider a cross, you will need a hoop, cotton or wool floss thread , a needle with a wide hole, a canvas, as well as decor elements (rhinestones and sequins). For the unicorn itself, it is best to use woolen threads, as they will add more volume to the fabulous creation. But for the horns, hooves, mane and tail, you can take a floss with a metallic effect.
Embroidery hoops are best chosen from wood or plastic, but with a metal lock. Before buying, be sure to check the mechanism. Also get some embroidery needles.
Simple unicorn patterns
If you are new to cross-stitching, it is best for the first time to take a simple unicorn embroidery pattern. For example, you can take as a basis the following.
The size of the finished embroidery is approximately 20 by 20 centimeters. The final value depends on the size of the cells. You should start embroidering from the middle. To find it, divide all sides in half and connect the opposite with an imaginary line. The intersection point of these lines will be the center of your unicorn embroidery.
Note that the unicorn in the pattern is white. If you wish, you can not embroider white cells, but we strongly advise you not to be too lazy and embroider the whole beast. A simple aluminum hook can be bent over time, and the picture risks falling.
If you do not want to make a picture, you can decorate a bag or pillowcase with such embroidery. First pull the fabric over the frame or hoop. If you work with a hoop, then try to choose their size so that you do not have to change the position of the fabric. Then apply a pencil drawing on the fabric. Designate colors so as not to confuse them in the process. Also indicate color transitions.
Then start sewing one bead to the fabric. This method of creating bead paintings is called pattern embroidery.
There is another option for creating bead paintings. You can buy either a set with a scheme and beads, or one scheme. In this case, you will embroider according to an already finished pattern, and you will not have to choose colors, since beads, as a rule, are already included in the set.
The finished work of beads must be enclosed in a frame, hiding it under glass (beads have the ability to collect dust very well). If you do not want to insert a picture under the glass, you will have to wipe it with a slightly damp sponge from time to time. The fastenings for it should be strong, since the picture embroidered with beads is much heavier than the embroidered mouline thread.
