In recent years, people are increasingly buying tablet computers or phones on foreign Internet sites. Or bring them from overseas travel. Inspired by a successful purchase, owners of a new device often do not think about the fact that the operating system on a tablet can be displayed in the language of the country from which it was brought, causing certain inconveniences. Changing the interface language in the Android operating system
In most cases, the language the user needs will be present in the device’s operating system. For comfortable use of a smartphone or tablet, you only need to enable it in the settings:
- We go into the device’s settings either through the status bar or through the application menu by clicking on the gear icon.
- Go to the menu responsible for the interface language and input.
- We select the topmost item, where we select and double-click to install Russian or any other language from the above list.

Changing the input language in the Anroid operating system
Changing the interface language does not mean that the input method will change. Nowadays, writing transliteration is a bad manners. The input method is changed by pressing the globe symbol on the on-screen keyboard or by holding a space. If for some reason you cannot enter text in Russian, then in order to change the language on the Android tablet, you need to carry out such manipulations by following the instructions:
- We go into the device’s settings either through the status bar or through the application menu by clicking on the gear icon.
- Go to the menu responsible for the interface language and input.
- Scrolling through the items, select the one that is responsible for the keyboard - you can have a keyboard from Google, Samsung or any other.
- Manually mark the necessary categories with the layout.
Reset to factory defaults on Android
If suddenly you made a mistake when choosing a language interface or layout and now you don’t know how to change the language on Android, you need to return everything to its original state. Resetting the settings will also help you if your device is very slow. There are two options for resetting Android to factory settings:
- directly from the operating system;
- using Recovery mode.
Reset from subsystem
For the first method, go to the settings menu, where to reset. The item name on tablets and smartphones of different companies may vary. The operating system may also offer you to save your personal data or delete it completely. This method, however, will be difficult enough for you if the language interface of the system is completely unfamiliar to you or the device’s sensor does not work.
Reset from Recovery Mode
In such cases, you should resort to resetting the settings by Hard Reset via Recovery. To enter Recovery mode, you need to hold down the on / off and volume up / down buttons at the same time. Once in the required mode, use the volume up and down buttons to go to the wipe data / factory reset menu. Next, you need to select the item offering to clear the internal memory of the tablet or phone and reboot. Use the power button of the device to confirm actions in Recovery mode.
If you decide to reset the settings on Androide, then before cleaning the device, make sure that the battery is charged, and even better, connect the gadget to the power supply.
