Aristotle Onassis is one of the most charismatic and controversial personalities of the last century. The biography of this man to this day haunts historians, businessmen and economists who are trying in vain to understand the formula of success, which was so easily solved by the Greek billionaire.
Aristotle Onassis: biography
This person was favored by fate from the very beginning of his life. He was born in the family of a very successful businessman who was selling tobacco products. This happened in January 1906 in the city of Smyrna. By the way, then this territory still belonged to Greece, and later was annexed to the Turkish state. Today, Smyrna is known as Izmir. The boy’s parents had everything: a luxurious home, a successful business, impressive income. However, with the advent of the Turkish army, everything came to an end. The family was urgently forced to leave their native lands and fled deep into Greece. The son, who had become a teenager by that time, was sent to Argentina in search of a better life. In a new country for himself, Aristotle Onassis first got a job - at the post office in Buenos Aires. And he spent some time sitting all day long in the post office. However, such a service brought the young man extremely low income, which he clearly did not like.

Then Aristotle decided to engage in postal affairs on the night shift, and in the afternoon to take up the familiar and familiar business for him - trade. And from that moment on, his life began to change rapidly. After all, the trade in tobacco was disproportionately more profitable. Thanks to his penetrative abilities, perseverance and, most importantly, incredible sociability, the guy soon managed to make a small capital. Successful trading not only significantly improved the financial condition of Aristotle, but also influenced his future fate: his enterprising compatriots who worked in the Greek Embassy in the capital of Argentina drew attention to such an enterprising young man . The guy was offered a tempting post of consul general, which he accepted with pleasure. However, taking up administrative work, Aristotle Onassis did not abandon his modest business at all. And soon the matter became big. By the 25th anniversary, he had earned his first million. A special gift and experience gained by that time prompted the young millionaire, now, where to direct his stops in business. He quickly orientated himself in the global economic trends of the mid-20th century and concentrated all his efforts on the construction and operation of oil tankers.

In fact, he was the first in the whole world to deal with this business on a really large scale. This allowed him to occupy a vacant niche at that time and earn his first billions. After the overwhelming success, Aristotle Onassis, whose photo by that time had become known to the whole world, returned to live in his homeland, in Greece. Which, however, did not completely hamper his mobility. In 1957, the Greek government transferred national airlines to the billionaire, and the latter became their owner and manager. He was engaged in this business for the rest of his life. One of the most successful people of the last century died a natural death in March 1975. After which he was buried in a chapel on the Greek island of Scorpios.
