Arriving in any country, I always want to explore the capital, because it is still the main city, the face of the state. Slovenia, Ljubljana ... Having already heard only the name, I want to go there.
Miniature beauty
The city is located on the foothills of the Julian Alps, on the banks of the Ljubljana River. It is located at an altitude of 296 meters above sea level. Many of the Russians represent this city gray, ordinary and far from civilization. It's not like that at all.

The capital of the Republic of Slovenia - Ljubljana - is a small, cozy and real Slavic city. The river divides the settlement into two parts: New Town on the left bank and Old Town on the right.
It is customary to walk around Ljubljana, since urban vehicles are not allowed on the Old Town Square and on many streets. Right bank - a cluster of attractions. It is interesting to see the castle of Ljubljana Castle, which was founded at the turn of the 5-6 centuries and then rebuilt, giving it a new Baroque style, in the 17th century. The masonry of the castle still stores fragments of Illyrian, Celtic and ancient Roman structures. The panoramic platform of the castle is the best place to explore the entire capital from above. In addition, Slovenia, Ljubljana in particular, is famous for Prešeren Square, where the Franciscan church of the 17th century is located. Its facade is made in
the Baroque style. The covered city market is another place worth your visit.
The most central part of the capital is Tromostovye or three pedestrian bridges decorated with dragons and passing through the Ljubljana River. Ljubljana is especially beautiful in the evening - an endless variety of cozy cafes and restaurants, bars and discos. Even despite many years spent under the control of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, the city retained its unique flavor and atmosphere, and remained truly Slavic.
