Beads or threads?
First decide what you want to embroider the horse. You can use beads or floss. And depending on the option you choose, buy either a canvas for cross-stitch and a thick needle, or a special fabric for embroidery with beads and a thin needle.
Keep in mind that Chinese beads for embroidery will not work, as it is usually poorly calibrated. You can buy either Czech beads or Japanese. But for cross stitch Chinese thread floss is quite suitable. However, before you buy a floss from China, read the reviews and make sure that these threads do not fade with time.
The simplest horse scheme
If you don’t know how to embroider with beads or a cross, it’s best to choose a simple scheme, as in the photo below. Such schemes are called monochrome, that is, they use only one color and its lighter shade. The canvas size for this drawing is approximately 12 x 8 centimeters.
First define the middle on the canvas. To do this, divide the sides in half and connect the opposite lines. The intersection of these lines will be the middle of the embroidery.
If you embroider a cross, then focus on the cells. If you embroider with beads, it is best to first draw a picture on the fabric with a special pencil or marker. When embroidering with beads, the exact pattern is optional.
More complicated embroidery pattern for the year of the Horse
The pattern below is best embroidered with a cross. Due to the presence of many shades in the drawing, we recommend buying more expensive mouline thread from a French or Spanish manufacturer. So you can choose the most correct colors and shades. The size of the embroidery is approximately 30 by 40 centimeters.
Before embroidering, identify the center on the canvas and on the pattern. Use a rectangular hoop to make it more convenient to work.

And how to create a unique and inimitable thing? You can buy expensive and large cross-stitch horse embroidery. Be sure to see the size of the stitch: the smaller it is, the more detailed the picture will be and the more difficult the work.

Beadwork according to the drawing on the fabric
For such embroidery you will need beads, needles with a small and thin eye, threads, fabric, pencil and hoop. First draw a pattern on the fabric. Differentiate the shadow areas, mark the same shades with the icons, so as not to get confused in the future. Then hoop the fabric. It’s best if the hoop is the same size as the pattern itself so you don’t have to rearrange them.
Buy a cloth. Then pick up the shades of beads. Beads can be transparent, translucent, transparent with a dyed middle, matte, glossy and opaque, as well as with the effect of mother of pearl or metallic. Before buying beads, attach it to the fabric and see how it will look. It is better to embroider the horse itself with simple opaque beads, but it is better to spend beads with a metallic effect on glare from the sun.
