Landscape Alley in Kiev - a colorful fairy tale in the city center

One of the most interesting places in the Ukrainian capital and a favorite vacation spot for citizens is the Landscape Alley in Kiev. A photo of this object, as well as its description, can be found in this article.

General description of the attraction

Landscape Alley in Kiev is one of the urban recreation areas, which was created on the site of the former defensive ramparts. They stretched over a deep cliff, reliably protecting the city from unwanted guests. It is curious that this alley is part of the Ancient Kiev Nature Reserve , which should have included other objects (open-air museum of archeology, reconstructed Kiev mountains, and so on). However, only this project was implemented.

The Art Museum "Landscape Alley" appeared in November 2009 and immediately became a popular holiday destination for Kiev residents. Citizens came here themselves, and also brought their children to unusual sites. The square, which was defeated in a vacant lot, is really impressive.

Its main axis is a long 30-meter wall, decorated with mosaics. It depicts blue cats-centipedes with open mouths and bird stars on the body. Just in the mouth of these cats most of all tourists like to be photographed. Also on this wall you can find a beautiful panel with images of children.

The open-air museum has many other attractions. In different places of the Landscape Alley you can see four housekeepers, which are located on high "towers" of pillows. And on one of the slopes the Little Prince is thoughtfully standing with a sword from the eponymous fairy tale for adults Antoine de Saint-Exupery. This sculpture was presented to Kiev by the French Culture Center.

There is also a playground designed based on another famous fairy tale - "Alice in Wonderland". Many are fascinated by the sculpture of a girl on an elephant or a fountain with zebras in love. It is worth noting that almost all the sculptures are lined with colorful mosaics.

The idea of the art project belongs to the designer Olga Kondratskaya. But the famous Kiev sculptor Konstantin Skretutsky did all the creative work. His name is already quite famous and loved by all Kievites. It was he who created many other "miraculous" sculptures in Kiev: for example, Sparrow-Rebel, Hedgehog in a fog of nails, or three cats in the Zolotovorotsky Square. Skretutsky continues to decorate the streets of the city and delight its residents.

Almost half a million hryvnias were needed for all the work to create an art museum. A fifth of this considerable amount was collected by residents of nearby houses.

Finally

The landscape alley in Kiev is very popular among guests of the capital. All tourists always want to get here, first of all, to see the art museum, which appeared in 2009. A walk along the Landscape Alley will not leave anyone indifferent: a sunny mood always reigns here, despite the weather.
