Myakinino Metro is a relatively young metro station in the capital. However, this fact did not affect its popularity. Why? To answer this question, it is worth looking at a map of Moscow. At the top are important objects in the life of the Russian metropolis. You can get to the world-famous Crocus Expo exhibition complex this way.
Metro "Myakinino." general description
On the Arbat-Pokrovskaya line there is a rather interesting station. It is located between Strogino and Volokolamsk. In general, the Myakinino metro scheme clearly shows that a station has been built outside the capital’s administrative borders. By the way, it should be noted that it is considered the first station with such a distant location. It runs through the territory of the Myakinin floodplain, related to Krasnogorsk. The Crocus Expo Exhibition Center is very close to the station, not far from it and the Moscow Ring Road.
The station is named after the small village of Myakinino, in the Kuntsevo-Western metropolitan administrative district. This small village is located immediately beyond the Moscow Ring Road. It was originally planned to name the station "Oboronnaya", "Kazakhstan", even the option "Crocus City" was considered, but still stopped at "Myakinino".
The initial design involved three vestibules. So far, only the south can be used. The operation of the northern and central vestibules is planned in the near future. When the planned project is completed, two exits from the station to the sidewalk and the same number to the underpasses will appear immediately . The exit will also be carried out in elevated passages that are connected to the exhibition pavilions.
Metro "Myakinino." Construction history
According to experts, it was not originally planned to build another station between Strogino and Volokolamskaya. The transportation interchange existing at that time was considered quite sufficient, however, thanks to the very rapid growth of the district's infrastructure, the presence of another station became necessary. Until Myakinino began to function, no one knew for sure whether it would work at all. Such information was not even two hours before the opening of the branch.
It is noteworthy that on December 26, 2009, the train, whose passengers were journalists and officials, did not even slow down at Myakinino. And at 11:25 the same day, the station became available to passengers. Thanks to the opening of the new station, Moscow became the second city after St. Petersburg, where the metro stretches beyond the borders of the administrative territory.
Metro "Myakinino." Station features
Myakinino - the ground station - is part of the ground parking. It includes coastal platforms and the only lobby connecting the platforms. A bridge passes through the central part of the station, which provides information exchange between platforms.
The walls of Myakinino are faced with granite, the lamps are mounted. At first, a completely different design of the station was planned. Lamps were supposed to be with reflectors, and the walls were finished with marble and glass. But due to funding restrictions, I had to change such a design project.
Myakinino station is considered one of the most nondescript and dark in the capital. Every local resident knows how to get to the Myakinino metro station, but some people intend to prefer to avoid such a trip by using land transport. Why? The fact is that dim lighting and gray granite create an unattractive picture. “Station-freak” - so called “Myakinino” architects for impartial design.
But positive points do exist. The advantage of the station is its special ceiling, capable of absorbing noise. This allows us to attribute Myakinino to the quietest metro stations.
The station is located near the Government House in the Moscow region. Nearby is the Crocus Expo. The operation of the Myakinino station allows a large number of people wishing to visit the international exhibition center, called the Crocus Expo.
