Kolovrat symbol - ancient Slavic sign

The symbol of Kolovrat, or in another way a swastika, is one of the oldest Slavic signs. He personifies the solar gods and denotes the eternal movement of the Sun, the victory of light over darkness. This sign can be found on almost all items of utensils and clothing of Ancient Russia. Swastika symbols were used as amulets in embroidery, worn around the neck, carved on furniture and utensils, or used by magicians in ritual actions.

Evidence was prevalent in many countries. The most ancient finds of objects decorated with Kolovrat, date back to the period about 40 thousand years ago. And now the remnants of murals or decorations at the temples can be found in Egypt, Japan, China or India. But most of them are found in the territories of the ancient Slavs.

Many swastika symbols are found in Buddhist temples, on ancient dishes, decorating palaces in St. Petersburg. Almost all clothing in ethnographic museums is decorated with embroideries depicting a Kolovrat. He was on household utensils, toys, house walls, mosaic floors and weapons. The swastika is located in the middle of the banknotes of 250 rubles issued under Tsar Nikolai the Second and under the Provisional Government. This badge marked the sleeve patches of the Red Army fighters. Only after the swastika, or rather one of its variants, was taken by the Nazis, it was banned.

But this sign does not bear any negative meaning, on the contrary, it protects from evil forces and misfortunes, helps to achieve success. It is a symbol of life, sunshine and eternal renewal. Therefore, he was loved by all nations at all times.

The Kolovrat symbol has many varieties, but is always recognizable. This is a circle with rays inscribed in it with curved ends. Most often they are 4, 6 or 8. The rays can be bent to the right or left. It is believed that such symbols have opposite meanings. Right-handed Kolovrat means life energy and male power, and left-handed symbolizes the appeal to the world of ancestors and gods and female energy. But in ancient times, both symbols were revered equally.

The whole life of our ancestors was subordinated to the rhythms of the movement of the sun, the change of seasons. All holidays were also celebrated with a solar cycle. Therefore, the Kolovrat symbol was used so widely. He protected from the evil eye, disease and misfortune, gave strength and wisdom. This sign reminded of the covenants of the gods and served as a symbol of the eternal movement and renewal of life.

The studies proved the deeper meaning that the Kolovrat (symbol) has. A photo of our Galaxy shows that it has the same shape as the four-beam swastika. In addition, if you draw imaginary lines in the starry sky from the constellation Ursa Major to the Polar Star during the four most important holidays of the ancient Slavs - the winter and summer solstices and the spring and autumn equinox, you get the same Kolovrat.

The symbol of the sun is the most revered sign in the whole world, despite the change of religions and governments. True, our people now retain a negative opinion about him, but the ancient knowledge of its true meaning is gradually returning.
