Convenient location on the border of three states at once - the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China and North Korea, significantly influenced the arrangement of the tourist infrastructure of the city. This place is known throughout northern China as a first-class resort center, rich in various monuments. In this publication, we have collected the most interesting information about Hunchun, (attractions, descriptions, prices).
History of the city
Hunchun is quite young for Chinese cities, often spanning millennia of history. The first mention of it can be found from the middle of the century before last. In the territory where Hunchun is now located, for hundreds of years there lived tribes of nomads-Jurchen, related to the Mongols, who gave the local river and, accordingly, the city a name, which means "borderland". Today, Hunchun belongs to the city county of Yanbian as part of the Korean Autonomous Region in the Chinese province of Jirin. It is located on the right bank of the Hunchunhe River.
Hunchun as a tourist center
The rich history of the city, despite the fact that it is relatively young, was also reflected in the many monuments that are definitely worth a look. Hunchun City, whose sights due to its beauty and unusualness can leave behind many European cities, does not cease to attract many tourists. True, one should know where to go, since this place is not very well known to many. When you get to the city, you will understand what interesting sights are in Hunchun. The prices will also pleasantly surprise you: a lot of restaurants where you can have a bite to eat as well as have a hearty lunch, and relatively cheap hotels will greatly enhance your stay. It is worth saying that if you wish, you can eat not only Chinese cuisine: there are many restaurants with Russian dishes in the city, so do not miss the opportunity to try how the Chinese prepare our usual food.
Hunchun (China) Attractions
Before traveling, you should consider a program of excursions. And although you will not see the next “Forbidden Palace” here, we guarantee a lot of pleasant impressions. Hunchun, by the way, is much adapted to Russian tourists: there are a large number of inscriptions in Russian, even the bus station has a large index in our language. This greatly simplifies the orientation in the city, and, accordingly, you can walk along the Chinese streets yourself, without a guide.
What can be seen in Hunchun?
Describing the main attractions of this place, it is worth pointing to the architectural ensembles of the local Buddhist temple, built in the form of a traditional Chinese building - the pagoda and Lin Bao Monastery.
