Hang out overnight to go further - so why pay more? Therefore, in roadside hotels, almost all rooms are standard. But if we choose a hotel for relaxation, our preferences change. We wish you a better service. Therefore, we select numbers more expensive. In the hotel price list immediately after the category "Standard" the category "Superior room" is indicated. What is it and what can a tourist count on? Let's consider.
Global and local
In all countries of the world, on all continents, hotels offer their guests superior. But interestingly, there is no single standard of services and room filling for this category of rooms. Room equipment depends on many factors: country, number of hotel stars, type of hotel (city or resort). So what is a superior room? The translation of these words simply means “improved room”. No more, no less. Improved, it must be understood, compared with the standard number. And how this room was ennobled in order to charge a little more for the billets is at the discretion of the hotel administration. By the way, it should be noted that in luxury hotels (five stars) there are often no standard rooms at all. In them, "Superior" is the lowest category.
Superior by Russian standards

Standard rooms often overlook the road, courtyards, construction sites and other unsightly facilities. Superior rooms offer a view of the sea (Superior Sea View), garden, pool. Improvement can also occur in proximity to the beach. The prefix "Ocean front" means that you will actually live on it. If the standard rooms in the hotel do not have a balcony, then in Superior it is. And if an ordinary room is equipped with it, then Superior has a terrace. It should be said that in some hotel complexes there is also a "Superior villa" and the same chalet. Then you can expect that the room will have several rooms or there will be a kitchenette.
European city hotel
Superior room - what does this mean for a two-three-star hotel located in a tourist European city? As a rule, standard rooms are serviced at a high level, but they are very small: ten, or even nine square meters, where you need to move sideways. What to do: Europeans are used to living in crowded conditions. Superior in Venice or Munich, London or Barcelona - this is a room measuring 20-25 square meters. m. Sometimes, unlike the Standard, there is an electric kettle with tea bags, coffee, sugar and dry cream. At times, a full-sized bathtub replaces the shower. In economy-class hotels in Superior put hygiene items - shampoo, shower gel, soap.
