Almost any resident of western or southern Ukraine will say that he does not like to move between these two regions. Drive to Kiev - yes, especially in official need. But to leave your region for the sake of something less attractive - for no reason. Moreover, a resident of Odessa will say about Lviv: "There is not even a sea there. Why go?" But the Lviv citizen laments that without the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the city does not imagine itself, especially if it is practically without history.
No express
And neither Odessa nor the Lviv will be right. Because these two cities, without belittling the merits of other settlements, are significant for Ukraine. Each of them is unique in its ancient beauty, but at the same time they are similar in maintaining a respectful attitude to antiquity.
In Lviv, the historical center of the city was formed in the Polish Empire, updated in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and finally formed in the Russian Empire. Odessa was never built up by Poles and Austrians, but twice won the competition for the best layout of its center, because it was built by Italian architects with an eye to the best European examples. And the stations in both cities are beautiful, built in the best traditions of urban planning, designed to show their greatness to foreigners who come to the empire.
By the time the European Football Championship was held in Ukraine and Poland in 2012, the railway between the host cities of the championship was modernized. On it launched express trains. Unfortunately, Odessa this honor passed, therefore, the express train message Lviv-Odessa does not exist.
Only three routes
But there are three trains available that connect the western capital of Ukraine and South Palmyra. The small number of routes confirms all of the above - the movement between western and southern Ukraine is not in demand.
Like all other routes, the main train "Lviv-Odessa" at number 026 leaves his hometown in the evening, and in the morning of the next day he arrives at the "pearls by the sea" station. Departure - 20:40, arrival - at 8:50 the next day. On the way, the train is ten minutes longer than twelve hours.
Three minutes faster than the main train, another Lviv-Odessa train moves along the route. Arrival in South Palmyra at 9:44, and departure from the Lviv station at 21:37. True, this train is sent to Odessa through Lviv in transit. The beginning of his glorious journey is Chernivtsi. This train, number 136, is called the Black Sea.
But the record for the time spent on the route is the next train Lviv-Odessa - night. The 107L route, called βHadzhibeyβ by the name of the predecessor city of Odessa, leaves at 0:42, and arrives at South Palmyra at 12:35. That is, there are twelve hours without seven minutes on the road. And by the way, this train is also transit, and begins its route in Transcarpathian Uzhgorod.
It should be clarified that the train Lviv-Odessa, as well as Uzhgorod-Odessa, runs on the route daily. But the train Chernivtsi-Odessa from the second of March begins to run every other day in pairs.
Issue price
Despite the presence of roads between the two cities, the best way to move along the Lviv-Odessa route is by train. The price of tickets starts from 118 hryvnias for a reserved seat. A coupe will cost from 185 hryvnias, and a suite will cost from 418 hryvnias per seat.
During its route, the Lviv-Odessa train makes eight stops, two of them - in Zhmerynka and in Kotovsk - about twenty minutes.
Return trip
Return trains from Odessa to Lviv depart a little earlier - in the afternoon with the arrival of the city of Leo in the early morning of the next day. Chernivtsi - at 16:31, Lviv - at 18:26, and Uzhgorod - at 19:07. In Lviv, they are in the morning at 04:46, 06:12 and 07:23, respectively.
