Nothing lasts forever, and any product that is experiencing marked success will sooner or later go out of fashion. Even the most, at first glance, unique and amazing gadget is doomed to lose its popularity in the future. With similar fate faced tablet computers, which had high hopes. Devices were supposed to replace the PC.
All major players have lost interest in this category of devices (including Apple, Google and Samsung). For the most part, only low-cost devices, including domestic ones, such as the Texet TM 7026 tablet, are actively sold in the slightest degree.
A bit of history
Texet is a Russian brand of consumer technology that was born more than 20 years ago. Products from this manufacturer have already established themselves as the most affordable in their class. Under the Texet brand, tablets, smartphones, DVRs, e-books and many other categories of devices are produced.
Equipment
The basic package includes a very solid set of accessories, which not every “top-end” tablet computer can boast of. So, in addition to the device itself, in the kit you can find:
- USB cable (for connecting to the mains and synchronizing data with a computer).
- OTG cable (for connecting additional accessories, such as a physical keyboard, gamepads and others like them).
- Mediocre headphones (a rarity for both tablets and budget devices in general).

- Guide to work with the device.
- Warranty card (a necessary thing for every budget device).
A rather non-standard set, all accessories are not of the best quality, but they allow you to get rid of additional investments. If you put a case and an SD card here, it would be great.
Design
Dimensions: 192 x 121 x 10 millimeters. The tablet computer has a classic design. Impressive build level. The tablet case is not made of cheap “soft-touch” plastic, but of real aluminum, and not of the budget series itself. The case came out quite strong, not too easily soiled, resistant to chips and small scratches. There is no backlash in different parts of the case, everything is glued to the conscience.
Most of the front panel is occupied by the display. There is nothing on the rear panel except the manufacturer’s logo and antenna (or rather, a plastic insert under it that allows the signal to pass through the case). On the right side face are the sound controls and the power button. On the bottom you can find all the necessary ports: mini-USB, a slot for SD memory cards, a headphone port (3.5 millimeters) and a microphone.
Display
The device has a very mediocre screen, made using TFT technology, which today is extremely outdated. The diagonal of the display is only 7 inches, and its resolution is 800 by 480 pixels (the value of the number of pixels per inch is 133). The picture came out rather grainy, the color rendition clearly suffers, and the notorious TFT technology adversely affects viewing angles. Even a non-critical angle can invert colors (it looks like it’s not in the hands of a technical achievement of the 21st century, but an old tube TV).
The display panel is protected by glossy glass. There is no protection against glare, it is not possible to use the tablet in the sun. The “multi-touch” sensor is not impressive either, false clicks and a delayed reaction are possible.
The display is widescreen, which means it is great for watching movies and videos, but, on the other hand, is not the best choice for web surfing.
Performance
You should not count on high performance in such an affordable gadget. The heart of this tablet is the Chinese single-core Allwinner / Box Chip A13 processor, whose clock frequency can reach 1.2 GHz. Such acceleration will be enough to perform basic tasks, watch videos, listen to music, work with documents, keep notes and so on.
For graphics capabilities meets the classic Mali 400 MP. Unfortunately, this video processor will not cope with any modern game, so you have to do indie projects or not play at all. As for the video, the supported formats, which include WMV, MKV and others, play without problems. No slowdowns or freezes were detected.
Memory
One of the main disadvantages of devices running on the basis of “Android” is the constant lack of RAM. Owners of the Texet TM 7026 will have to deal with the same thing; there was only room for 512 megabytes of RAM in the device, which will certainly affect both the overall performance and the operation of individual applications. “Android”, unlike iOS or Windows Mobile, cannot correctly allocate RAM, which means that all running programs will mercilessly fight for every megabyte, bringing the gadget to freezes and “brakes”.
As for the main memory, everything is not going smoothly either: the tablet comes only in one configuration Texet TM 7026 4Gb. Only 4 gigabytes of memory that will go to the operating system and a couple of the most necessary applications. The benefit of ROM can be expanded with a microSDHC memory card. It can store videos, books, music.
Shooting quality
The Texet TM 7026 is not equipped with a rear camera. There is only a front with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels. This layout is unlikely to please fans of selfies, but it is enough for video calls on Skype and conferences in Hangouts.
In fairness, it is worth noting that enthusiasts and especially desperate craftsmen will probably get accustomed and will be able to take pictures of business cards and documents using the front camera, therefore it is worth saying that the camera can perform utilitarian functions.
Autonomy
Operating time on a single charge is not the best indicator of this device, since there is a rather modest battery. You can not rely on the Texet TM 7026 tablet on a long trip, much less a hike. In general, you should not go far from the outlet with it, but rather get a portable battery that will allow you to maintain the tablet in working condition throughout the day. The battery capacity is 2400 milliampere-hours.
On average, the tablet "lives" for about 6 hours when watching a video (enough for two with a little film and a dozen music albums).
Wireless interfaces
The tablet does not have a rich set of wireless technologies. The only wireless interface that sticks under the hood of the gadget is Wi-Fi with support for a single frequency 802.11n.

This version of the “operating system” from Google is the first fully adapted for large displays (more than 5 inches). There is support for most modern applications from the Play Market. Those applications that were rewritten under the Material Design interface will not work with the 4th version, but you can find old versions in the form of APK-files.
