The Third Reich, that is, Germany , is considered to be the main aggressor of this world war. And this opinion is not unfounded. It was in the 1930s and 40s that the rise of fascist Germany took place. Thus, the desire of this country (more precisely, its government) for world domination played a decisive role at the beginning of world "lawlessness." In addition, of course, the impossibility of the world powers - the USA, Great Britain and France - to maintain their influence as a result of the adoption of the Treaty of Versailles also affected , while the humiliated countries gradually increased power and restored their position. It is worth noting that Soviet Russia and Germany, two countries not participating in the actions of the Versailles system, entered into an agreement under which relations were established in the military-industrial sphere. The causes of World War II also included German nationalist policies. The desire to exterminate all “non-Aryans” also had an impact. Many psychologists attribute the reasons for this behavior of Hitler to the psychological trauma of the childhood of the future Fuhrer. But, by and large, this is not so important.
How did the war develop? Surprisingly, Stalin was repeatedly told that the Fuhrer wants to attack and is preparing a plan, however, the leader was convinced of the non-aggression pact. This helped the Germans achieve an advantage in the first stage of the war. But this predominance was short-lived. Already in November 1942 the army of the Land of Soviets began a counterattack, and even earlier, in December 1941, the attack on Moscow was heroically repulsed. All this contributed to the growth of national identity among the Soviet people. After a turning point in the war, the victories of the Red Army poured one after another: here is the defense of Stalingrad, and the operations "Bagration" and "Kutuzov", and the Kursk Bulge along with the lifting of the siege of Leningrad and the liberation of Eastern Europe.
The reasons for the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War are, first of all, patriotism and courage of the people, strict discipline, a powerful (created during the years of industrialization) military-industrial complex of the country, the skill of commanders and, of course, intelligence and partisan movement. This comprehensive set helped the Soviet Union win an important victory, which became part of world history.
The causes of the Great Patriotic War, the prerequisites for its occurrence, the prevailing situation of social tension on the world stage - all this should never be repeated. All countries that participated in World War II suffered huge losses (both economic and social). A huge number of dead suggests that everything needs to be resolved peacefully, without involving ordinary people in politics.
