Origami "tulip" - spring mood all year round

Origami is the oldest Japanese paper-plastic art, familiar to us from childhood. As a young schoolboy, each of us with pleasure folded paper frogs, airplanes, boats, only then we did not know that this hobby bears such a beautiful name - origami. Tulip is a more complicated model, but who did not give it to mom for a spring holiday? Carefully, diligently folding colored leaves along the fold lines, we knew that this would be one of the most expensive gifts for the dearest person, because he would be made with his own hands.

Today we suggest you plunge into childhood and recall the origami scheme "tulip".

  1. Fold a square sheet of paper twice diagonally and once in half. According to the obtained folds, "pack" the corners in the pockets so that the basic model of the triangle is obtained.
  2. Bend the corners to the top on both sides of the triangle to make a rhombus.
  3. Flip the model so that the edges of the rhombus look down. Bend the right corner, slightly going beyond the middle, and insert the left into it. Repeat the same on the other side.
  4. β€œInflate” the bud through the hole below and bend the corners of the flower.

Another way to create a flower is to assemble it from modules. Modular origami "tulip" requires a longer time, since its manufacture will need 105 basic triangular modules. The basic triangular modules are made up of rectangular pieces of paper, the aspect ratio of which is 2 to 1, according to the simple scheme below.

Scheme of the basic element of modular rigs

Having made the necessary number of basic elements, we proceed to the assembly of our tulip.

  1. Connect the two modules using the third, as shown in the diagram. In this case, the left modules will form the first row, and on the right - the second row of the flower. When the number of modules in the rows reaches four, you should begin assembling the third row.
  2. Lock the modules in a circle (there should be 15 parts in each row) and, carefully holding them, turn it out so that the short ends of the modules look outward.
  3. Complete the model with 2 more rows of 15 modules.
  4. The bud is almost ready, it remains to form the petals. To do this, put on the modules, gradually reducing them: 4-3-2-1. Repeat assembly of the next petal, missing 2 corners of the bud.

Modular Origami Tulip

For the manufacture of the stem, we use the usual cocktail straws. Lubricate it with glue and wrap it with a strip of green paper. To make a sheet, use a sheet of paper with sides of 15 cm.

  1. Bend the edges from the corner to the middle, doing this from two opposite sides.
  2. Repeat the folds again.
  3. Carefully smooth the fold lines and turn the workpiece over, with a pencil, give it the desired curved appearance - the sheet is ready. It remains only to stick it to our stem.

Insert the stem into the flower, having previously thickened it with a lump of paper glued on the tip so that it does not fall out of the flower.

Our flower is ready!
