All the girls want to look beautiful and irresistible. In this, they, in addition to stylish clothes, are usually helped by all sorts of jewelry, such as, for example, a flower made of polymer clay. To date, jewelry made by hand from a polymeric substance is very popular. This is such an amazing material (also called "thermoplastic"), which is very flexible and, in the end, is also very durable. If you process polymer clay with your own hands, the flowers from which are very beautiful, then you should consider some of the features of working with it. There are two types of plastic: baked and drying clay. You can choose any, it all depends on your desire and the type of work that you want to perform.
In order for us to be able to successfully make a flower out of polymer clay, we suggest using baked thermoplastics. Immediately, we note some of its properties and precautions when working with such clay:
- elastic and soft in the hands;
- has different shades of colors;
- when baking, a temperature of at least 130-140 degrees Celsius is required for 30 minutes if the product is more than 1 mm thick;
- during heat treatment emits toxic substances, therefore, in order to avoid poisoning, bake the decoration strictly in the container;
- when baking clay can be combined with other heat-resistant materials;
- dyed in complementary colors and varnished product after being in the oven.
In principle, sculpting flowers from polymer clay is not difficult. Most likely, it requires dexterity of hand motility and accuracy. The polymer clay flower that we propose to make will be simple and elegant. This is a small brooch made in
ethnic style, which is decorated with small glass beads for pearls.
For our work you will need:
- baked white polymer clay;
- acrylic paints (the choice of color is yours);
- safety pin;
- pearl beads made of heat-resistant frosted white glass;
- two-component adhesive;
- a rolling pin specially designed for working with thermoplastics;
- Toothpicks
- clear nail polish.
So, we begin to make a brooch in the form of an ethnic flower made of baked polymer clay.
At the very beginning of our work, we need to make a smooth ball from our thermoplastic. This will be the core of the flower, the size of which we propose to determine at your discretion.
Then you need to make another ball, which should be rolled out with a rolling pin so that the disk thickness is about 2-3 mm. This will be the base of the flower. Put the original ball on top of the disc. Slightly press down on the small structure, but only from below, on the side of the disc.
Now we spread the pearl beads around the ball, slightly pressing them into the clay.
Then we take a small piece of material, roll it into a thin rope and form a flower petal. Then we attach it gently to the base with a toothpick. It is necessary to do as shown in the figure.
The next step will be a slightly dented toothpick cuts on the petals. This must be done carefully so as not to deform the configuration of the parts.
Small balls can add decor between the petals of our flower. However, this is most conveniently done after you attach the clasp to the back of the future brooch. To do this, use a two-component adhesive and two balls of polymer clay.
Our product is ready for baking in the oven, where it will need to be held at a temperature of 130-150 degrees Celsius for half an hour.
Then, after the craft cools down, it should be painted in the desired color with acrylic paints and allowed to dry in the fresh air. The finishing touch will be varnishing. It is necessary to take a transparent varnish and carefully put on a brooch. Let air dry again.
So your wonderful polymer clay flower, which you made yourself, is ready. With such a brooch you will always look charming and elegant!
