We cut out the base of the shield from cardboard, note that its dimensions must be such that it is possible to completely cover the body. Next, we start painting our base. To do this, choose a neutral color or the main colors of the suit. You can depict a coat of arms on a shield.
Now we pass to the stage of creating a handle for the shield so that the child can easily carry it with him. To do this, on the reverse side we fix a strip of cardboard in a horizontal position. This can be done with glue or a furniture stapler.
Sword
Any self-respecting knight carries a sword with him, and is ready at any time to defend his honor. Therefore, the sword is the main attribute that must necessarily contain a knight costume for the boy. With our own hands it will not be difficult to make it and now we will tell you a few secrets.
The easiest option is to cut the sword out of cardboard in the same way as we cut the protective shield. The length of the sword is selected in accordance with the growth of the child, but should not be less than the length of the shield.
On a flat cardboard, draw a outline of the sword with a ruler and cut it out. After that, you can start decorating. This refers to painting a cardboard blank. Choose gray or light gray paint, and the handle in a contrasting shade.
