What are these lamps, and what is their difference? In this article we will try to answer these questions.
First, we explain the term “dimming”. This means voltage regulation, a special device is responsible for this - a dimmer (voltage regulator). It is a device mounted in a mounting box as a conventional switch or socket (less commonly in electrical panels). The purpose of the dimmer is to turn on and off the lighting, as well as adjust its brightness. Separate models of regulators have additional functions: automatic on / off (timer), voice or acoustic control, remote control, as well as imitation of human presence (on and off, change the intensity of the glow for a given program).
Dimmable LED bulbs are designed to create subdued, soft lighting. Voltage regulation allows you to easily change the level of illumination of the room, this makes the control of the light flux much more functional. Dimmable LED bulbs are designed for use with a voltage regulator. The fact is that there are many different LED lamps. They differ greatly in shape, size of the cap, purpose, power, aperture ratio and other parameters. And not every LED lamp can be used with a voltage regulator. Many LED devices are not designed to control brightness, and if they are used together with a dimmer, then as a result this can lead to the fact that they will not work in the required mode and may even fail. In this case, you may even be denied warranty service. Therefore, if you plan to install voltage regulators in your room, or they are already standing, you need to purchase only dimmable LED lamps.

However, using dimming lamps, do not forget that voltage regulators have such a parameter as the minimum load. This means that the total power of your lamps should not be lower than the minimum power of the dimmer. When buying dimming LED light sources, you must always carefully study their technical characteristics. After all, the correct use of these devices will allow you to enjoy their perfect work for a long time.
