Yalta is an incredibly beautiful city with many different attractions, as well as the royal palaces of the Russian Empire. The sights of Yalta keep memories of the famous people of the 19th century, as well as the spa people of the USSR period. Today, Yalta is a popular tourist destination. In summer, it is crowded with vacationers from all over the world, which is not surprising: it is not just the sea, the sun and amazing nature, it is a real museum located in the open.
The city is located in a large amphitheater, divided into two valleys by the Darsan mountain: the Derekoyka and Uchan-Su rivers. Through the city there are 7 major tourist routes that have received international and national status.
When visiting the sights of Yalta, one can note the Majestic Church of St. John Chrysostom. It is one of the first stone structures in the city with unusual architecture. The temple can be safely called one of the main decorations of both Yalta and the Crimea as a whole. From everywhere you can see the 45-meter bell tower of this cathedral. The church, located on Polikurovsky Hill in the city center, was built in 1832-1837. like the cathedral temple of the city. At its opening, Nikolai the First and Alexandra Fedorovna attended. After that, Yalta received the status of a city.
But, studying the sights of Yalta, it is worth saying that there are a whole lot of Orthodox churches here, including the A. Nevsky Cathedral, the construction of which is associated with the death of Emperor Alexander the Second.
The Armenian Church, which was erected in 1909-1919, is also interesting. She was modeled with the famous church of St. Hripsime located in Vagharshapat. The Armenian Church is located just above the heart of the city, at the top of the Mini Potemkin Stairs. The building is decorated with carvings, arches, as well as secluded niches.
Looking at the sights of Yalta, one can not fail to note the Embankment, framed by spreading palm trees and attractions, cafes, bars and restaurants. The architectural background is represented by various styles. Young Yalta residents have a favorite meeting place - a monument to Lenin, hidden behind the palm trees of the embankment of the city of Yalta.
Other attractions are the jetty for pleasure boats and motor ships and the
cable car that leads to Darsan. Here in 2004, a sculptural bronze composition “Anton Chekhov and a Lady with a Dog” was installed, which is the work of Moscow sculptors Fedor and Gennady Parshiny.
Of course, to be in the favorite place of A.P. Chekhov and not to go to the classic house-museum is an unforgivable mistake for anyone who came to the city of Yalta. Sights (photo above) of the city are not only sculptures, monuments and amazing nature, it is also a tribute to the memory of the great writer. Chekhov moved with his mother and sister from Moscow to Yalta in 1898 for health reasons. Here he acquired a plot of land where he built a house (project of L. N. Shapovalov) and planted a magnificent garden. It was in this city that the most famous works of the creator were written - “Three Sisters”, “A Lady with a Dog”.
