The place was not chosen by chance, because it was here that the warehouse was located, in which the metal delivered along the river from the Urals was stored.

In the eighteenth century, artisans were supplanted by merchants and representatives of the nobility. And already in the 1870-1880s, a stone embankment was built. For all the time of its existence, it survived only one large-scale reconstruction - in the 30s of the twentieth century. The construction of the famous skyscraper was begun in 1938. The fully finished building was commissioned in 1952.
