Colorful playgrounds, unusual sculptures, an open-air art museum - this unique place is known not only in Kiev, but also far beyond. The name of this Kiev object is Landscape Alley. Where is it located, how to get on it and what can you see there?

Finding this mall on the ground is not so easy. After all, it is located in the rear of the central streets of the Ukrainian capital and is hidden from view.
The alley is located within the so-called Old Town (administratively, this is the modern Shevchenkovsky district). It stretches from the house at number 7A in Tithe Lane (near the Museum of the History of Ukraine) to building No. 38 on Bolshaya Vladimirskaya, that is, almost a kilometer.
Landscape Alley (or simply Landscape) is a modern walking area in the center of Kiev. It is completely pedestrian, cars do not drive here. The bookmark of the Landscape Alley in Kiev was attended by Abraham Miletsky, a talented architect of Jewish origin. On his huge track record are such famous Kiev projects as the Memorial of Eternal Glory, the Palace of Pioneers and others. Also, Abraham Miletsky was engaged in the reconstruction of St. Andrew's descent.
The landscape was laid in the early 80s. Strolling here, you can enjoy beautiful panoramas: from the alley there is an excellent view of the Kiev mountains-hills, Podil and the Dnieper region.

In the heart of the city is located Landscape Alley (Kiev). How to get here will be the easiest? The first option: take the subway and get off at the Golden Gate station (Siretsko-Pecherskaya branch, it is also “green”). After that, you need to go along Vladimirskaya Street to the north to the Museum of the History of Ukraine and turn left into Desyatiny Lane.
If you find yourself on Sofiyskaya or Mikhailovskaya Square, then it’s enough to walk 500 meters west along Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya Street. The reference point for you is the huge mural on the wall of the house at number 38. Before this building you should turn into the courtyard - and you will immediately find yourself at the starting point of the Landscape Alley in Kiev.
Landscape - the best place for dates and walks with children
Not everyone knows that the Landscape Alley was created on the remains of the ancient defensive ramparts of Kiev, which stretched over deep cliffs and reliably protected the city from enemy attacks. That is why wonderful city panoramas open from this place. Therefore, Landscape Alley is one of the best places in Kiev for romantic walks and dates.
In addition, families with small children come here with pleasure. After all, here, through the efforts of enthusiasts and artists, beautiful playgrounds have been created. One of them is framed based on the popular fairy tale "Alice in Wonderland". In addition to world-famous characters, here you can meet, for example, a couple of zebras in love or a sculpture of a little girl on an elephant. Of course, children are delighted with such sites! It is worth noting that almost all the sculptures in the park are lined with colorful mosaics, which only enhances the festive and bright atmosphere of the Landscape.
Art Museum on Landscape Alley
Modern Landscape is not just a recreation area, but also a unique open-air art museum. Here you can see many sculptures and unusual installations. How do you like a huge 30-meter centipede cat with a wide mouth? Or a tall tower of colorful pillows? Not yet such interesting things can be seen on the Landscape Alley!
The idea to create an art museum in the wasteland beyond Bolshaya Zhytomyrskaya Street belongs to Olga Kondratskaya. But most of the sculptures were made by the famous Kiev sculptor Konstantin Skretutsky. This bright and extraordinary craftsman has been decorating the streets and squares of the city with amazing works for many years.
On the creation of an art museum in the landscape took about half a million hryvnia. Interestingly, part of this amount was collected by residents of neighboring houses.
The oldest Kiev staircase
Near the Landscape Alley are the tracts of Gonchary and Kozhemyaki. People settled there for a long time. Today, these tracts are also densely built up with cottages. An unusual wooden staircase connects them with the Old Town, which at one end goes just onto the Landscape Alley.
This staircase is one of the oldest in Kiev. Walked on it in the XVII century! But in the 80s of the last century, this wooden staircase (popularly - a "piece of wood") was chosen by informals and hippies. Here they regularly gathered in the evenings, drank wine, listened to forbidden songs and delivered rebellious speeches. By the way, informal personalities can be found on this staircase to this day.
