In the north-west of Russia, there was once a historical region of Ingermanland, which was also called Ingeria, Izhora, Izhora land (in Old Russian - Izhorskaya). These territories were annexed by the glorious conquests of the Russian princes and tsars long before the formation of this region belonging to Sweden (1617-1622). In 1478, the owner of these lands was Zakhary Ovinov, a posadnik of the Novgorod Republic. The territory belonged to the Dudorovsky district.
Numerous area owners
Now, part of this territory is the Lomonosov district, which includes the urban-type settlement Bolshaya Izhora and the village of Malaya Izhora. Of course, the land has an ancient and glorious history. Over the centuries, they have replaced many masters, who were the imperial persons Peter II, Catherine II and Grand Duke Mikhail Pavlovich. They were also owned by lesser persons: the widow of General-General A.I. Bibikov, the actual state councilor Kamenev, Admiral I.P. Belanevets (he renamed the village Vezenberg in his time). Belonged to Bolshaya Izhora and Alexander Danilovich Menshikov. In Soviet times, the village often changed its status and borders. The names of the districts to which he belonged also changed.
Emerging stability
In 2004, according to the regional law of the Leningrad Region No. 117-OZ, a Bolsheizhorskoye urban settlement appeared here, the center and the only settlement of which is still the
urban-type settlement Bolshaya Izhora. By the way, the status of PGT was assigned back in 1939.
The village was formed by the merger of the summer cottage (manor) of Pilnaya, the cottage village of Primorsky Khutor, the village of Sagomillie and, in fact, the village of Bolshaya Izhora, which gave the name to the new association on the southern coast of the Gulf of Finland. For a long time it was a wonderful summer cottage, which is now becoming increasingly popular.
Advantages of Big Izhora
Pine forests and sand dunes, non-hot summers and the sea warmed off the coast, extraordinary air - these are indisputable advantages that the Big Izhora recreation area has. People come here from all over Russia, because the distance from this village to St. Petersburg is about 74 km, and the time spent on the trip varies around an hour. The fare on the train is 91 rubles, which cannot but add attractiveness to the rest.
The map of Big Izhora demonstrates in what a wonderful place the Leningrad Region is this zone. But she was not always resort.
Soviet history page
In 1938, by the decision of the People's Commissar of the Navy M.P. Frinovsky, a naval base was founded here, which became a city-forming enterprise. The territory was declared "closed."
In 1966, the gardener "Builder" was founded here, and a little later - the summer house cooperative SNT "Pulman".
There have never been industrial enterprises here - only two old mills (flour-grinding and sawing) on ββthe banks of the Sapoya River. Both mills were erected by decree of Peter I.
After the city-forming enterprise in the 90s became a joint-stock company (now the village has a storage base for weapons of the Russian Navy), the housing stock was transferred to the village.
Part of the recreation areas of the Baltic coast
From this time begins the active spa life of the village of Bolshaya Izhora. The Leningrad Region, decorated in abundance with the beauties of the Baltic Sea, Ladoga and Onega lakes, the Svir and Volkhov rivers , is considered a resort area, popular not only in our country, but throughout Northern Europe. There are a lot of holiday homes and resorts. Big Izhora so far can not boast of a sufficient number of these medical and preventive and health-improving institutions. There is a complex "Visit" that meets all the requirements of a modern comfortable stay. A very well developed private sector in which guests can rent a comfortable house.
Relay of the times
The development of modern resort infrastructure is one of the main directions of social policy of both local and regional authorities in relation to the coastal village of Bolshaya Izhora.
The beach is very popular right now. Reviews about him are very different: someone is indignant at the construction of a dam nearby, because of which the coast of the Gulf of Finland is overgrown with grass, others believe that the beach in Bolshoi Izhora is not bad: there is a cafe, a football field, fenced in with a net, and parking. Everywhere you can find advertisements for paid kitesurfing and windsurfing lessons. A separate category of citizens admires that the beach is nudist ...
Local authorities have something to strive for. At the beginning of the last century, this area was a prosperous holiday village, well-groomed, clean, with beautiful houses, excellent infrastructure and a good cinema. There was a well-equipped marina; the Izhora steamer regularly flew three times a week.
On two roads - a good dirt road, covered with crushed stone, and an iron one to Kronstadt - the summer residents comfortably reached their possessions. Food products were easily delivered to Greater Izhora. Unfortunately, all this splendor burned down in 1919 - not a single summer house remained.
Great opportunities
The weather in Bolshoi Izhora interests residents of nearby cities, especially St. Petersburg, because many people leave here for the weekend.
The temperate climate of the Leningrad Region rules here. The transition from oceanic to continental provides mild winters and warm summers, with an average January temperature of -8 ...- 20
, and average July temperature +17 ... + 18
. The absolute record was +36
o C. A characteristic feature of this climate is a sharp change in the weather, but this does not scare away fans of marvelous places.
