Not without reason Rybatskoye Metro is considered one of the most popular transport hubs in the Northern capital. There are actually a lot of prerequisites for this, both economic and purely technical. To date, the facility has been operating for about half a century, and underestimating its role is almost impossible.

The station is located beyond the
Ring Road (KAD) in the Nevsky District of the Rybatskoye Municipal District and is the final stop of the Nevsky-Vasileostrovskaya metro line. This is the only line in St. Petersburg that does not include pylon-type stations. The management of trains on this line is not carried out by the auto-driving system, but manually.
This is the southernmost underground metro station of the city on the Neva, which is located on Diesel Locomotive Street, between intersections with D. Ustinova and Pribrezhnaya Streets. It has access to several streets of St. Petersburg - Diesel locomotive, Coastal, 1st Rybatsky and 6th Rybatsky passages, as well as the transition to the railway station of the same name .
Section 2. Metro "Fishing". Station history
The first part of the Neva-Vasileostrovskaya branch, which includes the transport hub, was launched in November 1967. The section of the Obukhovo â Rybatskoye section, 3.2 km long, began to function from December 28, 1984. The stop inherited its name from the historical name of the area in which it was built, and is the youngest station on the line.
The authors of the construction project of Art. Rybatskoye metro station was delivered by architects A.S. Getzkin, K.G. Leontiev and N.V. Romashkin-Timanov.
For the first time in practice, a tunneling method was applied to the underground construction of tunnels connecting the station with railway platforms and residential neighborhoods, which made it possible not to stop the train traveling. And for the construction of the roof, a folded 18-span ceiling was used, which allows the installation of station structures.
Initially, small escalators were installed at the station, designed to move people from the underpass to the cash register. But during the capital reconstruction in 2000-2001. they were replaced by ordinary stairs.
Section 3. Metro "Fishing". Station Features
Due to the fact that the tracks on the section of the Rybatskoye â Obukhovo line from the ground platform abruptly go deep, the maximum allowable slopes were used on the route of this direction. Another factor for such construction was that part of the station line was constructed in an open way.
The ground part of the object consists of three platforms - two straight lateral and one island, which is the service. The covered pavilion, in which the subway platforms are located, is part of the buildings belonging to the railway station of the same name. Railway platforms and a metro stop connect two underground pedestrian crossings. One of them is still inactive.
For cladding wall surfaces and supporting columns of Rybatskoye station, marble slabs of white and gray colors were used. The floor of the platforms is lined with polished granite. Thanks to the windows installed in the upper part of the building, the station has enough lighting in the daytime. There are balconies above the tracks in the northern part of the station, but the passage through them is closed.
