Are you going to Minsk? Then you should definitely visit the local zoo. The walk will surely appeal to both children and adults.
History
So, the zoo in Minsk ... The founder of the institution is the naturalist writer Fedor Revdezin. He is his first director. They opened a zoo in Minsk on August 9, 1984. From that moment on, all of his money matters were dealt with by the MAZ nature lovers club, whose chairman was Revzin. In 1887, an interesting project was presented on the improvement of the zoo. True, it was never realized. Soon the club stopped financing it. Then for some time he was a division of Veras-ECO.

The zoo in Minsk received state funding only in 1997. At that time his condition was rather miserable. Which is not surprising. After all, the territory was equipped with wooden enclosures, established in the distant 1884. It was assumed that they will last a maximum of 3-4 years ... As you know, for the entire time the park existed, until 1997, no one changed them. Despite the disgusting conditions, the pets felt good. Moreover, there were implemented captive breeding programs for many animals, such as noses, chinchillas, brown bears, and others.
Present time
Now the zoo in Minsk is actively developing. Soon it is planned to build a monkey here. Now, special winter aviaries are equipped for pets in the park.
Currently, it contains about two hundred species of different animals. Among them, over sixty species of birds, sixty five - mammals, as well as five species of amphibians and fifteen - invertebrates.
The first inhabitants of the park were Zhurka's stork, rescued by good people (landed in a puddle of fuel oil), the Khan camel (a present from Teresa Vasilyevna Durova), the bison Gai and the wild boar Khryusha.
Now animals are actively breeding, visitors can see many cubs (cubs, chicks, goats and others).
As already noted, the zoo is well landscaped. All pets live in spacious enclosures or cages with a well-thought-out security system. As for the comfort of visitors, food points, rest areas and toilets are organized on the territory of the zoo.
