"Swallow's Nest" has long been a kind of hallmark of the southern coast of Crimea. This wonderful building resembles a knight's castle from the Middle Ages, which sheltered on a small piece of land, on the cliff of Aurora. Millions of posters and postcards have spread all over the world, attracting tourists to Ukraine in order to see this miracle and take pictures next to it. "Swallow's Nest" in the Crimea was depicted on the canvas by many artists, among the most worthy are the works of Lagorio, Aivazovsky, Bogolyubov.

Information about the building has been preserved very little. It is only known that its first owner was a general who participated in the Russian-Turkish war. In those days, many were given land, apparently, this hero came across a patch on Cape Ai-Todor. You need to be a big romantic to decide to build a summer house on a steep rock. "Swallow's Nest" in the Crimea was originally wooden and bore the name "Castle of Love". To whom this architectural creation was dedicated - it remained a mystery.
Then the building was in the possession of the court doctor A.K. Tobin, who handed it down to his wife, and she, in turn, sold the merchant Rakhmanina. It was the Muscovite who gave her dacha a new name - “Swallow's Nest”. Crimea - a photo of the peninsula allows you to get an idea of its beauty - has always attracted foreigners with amazing landscapes, an abundance of forests, mountains and the sea. Therefore, after several decades, the building was bought by a German, Baron von Stengel, engaged in Baku oil. It was he who gave the building the appearance of a Gothic castle, the work was completed in 1912.

Before the start of World War I, the “Swallow's Nest” in Crimea was sold to a German merchant Shelaputin, who he used as a restaurant, but in the light of those gloomy events, few used the establishment, and things were not going very well. In 1927, a strong earthquake occurred near Yalta, which caused significant damage to the structure. The spiers fell into the sea, and the rock under the castle cracked. Despite this, the city authorities arranged a reading room here, and only after a while the building was declared in emergency condition.
Despite the prohibitions, the Swallow’s Nest in the Crimea has always been especially popular with lovers, so they, risking themselves, made their way to the castle to take pictures. Overhaul was made only in 1967 with the help of volunteers who, at the risk of their lives, poured concrete cracks. After that, a cozy restaurant started working again, and tourists with cameras were allowed on the balcony. What could be more beautiful than a candlelight dinner under an open starry sky in the Castle of Love? That is why this place as if magnet attracts couples in love.
