Everyone who enjoys fishing is well aware that having good fishing gear is half the catch. You can, of course, catch on spinning rods and fishing rods, but the catch is significantly increased when using the net. It can be purchased in various specialized stores and stalls, or you can weave it yourself. The independent production of fishing nets, of course, is a very dreary and laborious work, but it has a great advantage, namely, that the final result will fully meet all your requirements and wishes. Many beginner fishermen are interested in how to weave a net. In this article we will consider in detail how to do this.
So, the manufacture of fishing nets from you will require simple sewing threads of various thicknesses and colors, as well as twisted nylon threads and veins with different cross-sections. A prerequisite is that the thread cannot unwind, otherwise the shape of the cell of our gear will be damaged. The strength and accuracy of the nets will depend on how thin and durable the nylon threads you choose will be. Well, of course, they should normally tolerate a long stay in the water.
You will also need to take care of such special tools as a template and a shuttle. You can make all these devices yourself when you understand what they are and why they are needed. The template is a rectangular plaque. It is she who will determine the size of the cell. The length of this rectangle should be from 10 to 15 cm, while the width should be equal to the desired width of the network cells. It can be 30, 40 or 50 mm. But the shuttle can be made from some dense material, for example, from wood, plastic or metal. If the knitting will be of thin threads, then you will need a small shuttle, the width of which will be 2 cm and a length of 15 to 20 cm.
We pass to how to weave a network. Its nodes are of various types. Let's look at a single node. You need to throw a nylon string, the length of which will be from 10 to 20 m, on the shuttle made and tie a loop at the end of the thread. The assembly must be tightened securely.
Now you will be required to hammer a regular nail into a reliable surface, such as a tree or wall, so that it is at the level of your eyes when you sit on something. Now we put a loop on it, which you made at the end of the thread, and tie the knot.
Now we pass directly to how to weave a network. We have the following: on one side of the nail a loop will hang, and on the other side a kapron thread will come down, which will go to the shuttle. Next, take the shuttle with your right hand, and hold our template with your left. On the last we put the thread that goes to the shuttle from the nail, and lower it down behind the template so that the thread bends over the rear end. Now enter the tip of the shuttle from the bottom up into the loop and drag through it.
At the next stage, we pull the shuttle back onto ourselves, while the loop should gradually be attracted to the front edge of the template. After the moment the thread is laid on it for the third time, we press it with the thumb of the left hand, thus forming the next loop around the pattern.
Now we tie a new loop to the first by threading the thread that comes from the stitch. This is done in a circular motion with the right hand from under the thumb on our first loop to the shuttle. Next, lower the shuttle along the right edge of the initial loop down, skip the end from bottom to top between the beginning of the second loop and the left thread of the first.
Then the shuttle is pulled and stretched back, while the template is held by the left hand. After that, we pull the thread back to the moment when the thread thrown on the first loop does not appear outward, and the knot between the index finger and the thumb on the left hand is not tightened.
It remains only to tighten the knot strongly, throw the second knot from the template from left to right and tie the third loop. Continue all these manipulations until the tackle is ready. Now you know how to weave a net.
