Alabyan-Baltic tunnel: launch planned

The Baltic Automobile Tunnel is located near the Sokol metro station, based on the Bolshaya Leningradka project. The length of the tunnel under the project reaches 2015 m, and its closed part is about 1544 m. The greatest depth reaches 22.5 m.

The tunnel will have six lanes - three in one direction and three in the opposite direction. Its full opening is planned by the end of 2013. The cost of its construction is more than 80 billion rubles. After completion of the work, the Alabyano-Baltic tunnel will be considered one of the directions of the new highway - the North-Western Chords. He will establish a connection between two districts of Moscow: North-East and South-West. Chorda will connect four districts: CJSC, CAO, NEAD and NWAD.

It is planned that the highway will run along the following streets of the Skolkovo Highway: Kubinka, Vitebsk, Krylatskaya, Yartsevskaya, Bozhenko, Nizhny Mnevniki, Alabyan, People’s Militia, Baltic, Academic, Third Nizhne-Lykhoborsk passage, and after - along the entire length of the Small Ring of the Moscow Railway along Serebryakov passage. The end will be the Yaroslavl highway near the Severyaninsky overpass. The length of the route will reach 29 kilometers. It is also expected that the new Alabyano-Baltic tunnel will simplify traffic along the Volokolamsk and Leningradskoye highways.

At one of the stages of construction near the Leningradskoye and Volokolamskoye Shosse near the Sokol station, they are thinking about laying several more carriageways along its Alabyano-Baltic tunnel from both sides. On the left driveway, it is planned to erect a ground parking lot, which will have 44 places for cars. They also plan to create, on top of the aerial part of the tunnel, between Leningradsky Prospekt and the side passage, a reversal-settling platform of 0.14 hectares for public transport.

The builders announced that the construction of the tunnel, during which so many organizational and technical problems arose, would end in about three months. The main inconvenience is that the construction is carried out under a working line. Work on Baltiyskaya Street took place in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings, which required quite unusual operations. For a long time, builders worked at the underground river Tarakanovka. They encountered many tributaries there and spent a lot of time fighting them. About six months were spent to promote construction in the area. On this occasion, in order to expedite the work, a meeting was held at the facility itself.

The government wants to quickly launch a unique Alabyano-Baltic tunnel. However, there is no need to rush here, since the work must be effective, and often - filigree.
