The Andaman Sea is located in the east between the peninsulas of Malacca and Indochina, in the south near the island of Sumatra and in the west between the islands of Andaman and Nicobar. In the north, this sea is located up to the Irrawaddy River Delta .
The Andaman Sea is located in the warm zone of the subtropics and tropics of the Northern Hemisphere. The climate is humid, hot, tropical. The salinity of the water slightly exceeds the salinity of the waters of the Bay of Bengal. But in the north, near the mouths of the Saluin and Irrawaddy rivers , the water is much fresher. In places, very high tides are noted - about seven meters.
The bottom soils of the Andaman Sea are similar to the soils of the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. In the continental zone, gravel, pebbles, sand prevail, and in the depths - red clay and silt. From south to north, a volcanic arc crosses the bottom (the islands of Narcondam, Barren). It is volcanic activity that becomes a frequent cause of earthquakes that cause tsunamis. Frequent natural disasters, in turn, form bizarre rocks and stone formations. The coast is winding, mostly low, flat, rocky and hilly.
The animal world is diverse and rich. In the shelf zone, marine species live mainly - from microscopic to large predators to large cetaceans. A lot of mollusks, intestinal, crustaceans, echinoderms, sea snakes, worms and other living creatures that live at the bottom. The Andaman Sea is rich in various fish. Very small fishes, larger inhabitants, feel comfortable here. Here the diver can see clown fish, triggerfish, butterfly fish, lionfish, various stingrays and gobies,
flying fish , tuna, herring, swordfish, sardinella and many others. Of the cetaceans, dolphins live here mainly, including the

But in recent years, their numbers have declined significantly, not only in the Andaman Sea, but also in many other places on the planet. The reason for this is uncontrolled fishing, a barbaric shark hunt because of their fins. Some species of sharks are listed in the Red Book, including a special unique species - white. But, despite this, in the waters of this sea you can still see these beautiful creatures.
