One of the big cities that spread on the Black Sea coast of Bulgaria is Burgas. During the period of Roman times, this place was the village of Debellum, the foundation of which belongs to the emperor Vespasnon. Military veterans were settled here. Thanks to healing springs, hospitals were subsequently opened here. The city got its present name only in the 16th century. Today it is one of the most attractive settlements on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. Thousands of tourists are trying to come to rest in Burgas. The attractions of this resort are, first of all, beaches, natural lakes and amazing architectural structures. The positive aspects are a pleasant climate, an unspoiled park area and a relaxed atmosphere.
Where to start exploring the most interesting places when you come to Burgas? Sights of this city consist of a huge list, the first place in which is Marine Park. It is spread on a high bank and stretches for seven kilometers along the sea. The first thing that catches your eye is a huge number of beautiful flower beds, bizarre trees and interesting sculptures, among which there are monuments to famous personalities. So, in the garden there is a bust of A. Mickiewicz (Polish poet). It is recommended to visit the Summer Theater, which seats 2500 people. In the summer, various festivals, concerts and theatrical productions take place here. In addition, the park has a zoological garden, a casino, the summer stage "Snail", a lot of various restaurants, the house of the creator of the park, a flower exhibition, the Pantheon - in a word, this is a real sea town where you can enjoy wonderful landscapes and sea breezes.
Continuing to explore Burgas, the sights of this magnificent city, you can go to one of the symbols of this settlement - this is the Burgas bridge, located next to the Marine Park. It begins on one of the busiest streets of the city - the Virgin. The construction of the bridge dates back to the 19th century. Its length is 500 meters. It offers a magnificent panorama of the sea, pier and beach. In the evening, it is most beautiful here, thanks to multi-colored lighting.
Among the most interesting places, one can note the many architectural structures that Burgas is famous for. Sights include in your list such a unique building as the Cathedral Church of Saints Cyril and Methodius. It rises near the market, in the central part of the city. This is one of the oldest temples here. All tourists are impressed by the majestic architecture of the facade and dome. Its interior with beautiful paintings is very beautiful. The value of the temple is a carved wooden altar. Not far from the hotel "Bulgaria" is another unique architectural structure - the Armenian Church, which deserves attention. We cannot but mention such a monument as the fortress of Poros, which is located near Burgas.
However, not only architectural structures are attractive in the city, there are many interesting natural places that Bulgaria is proud of. Burgas, the sights of which we see, is famous for its lakes, among which are Burgas, Atanasov and Madren. They have healing properties, therefore, many hospitals, health resorts and sanatoriums have been built in their area. At Atanasovskoye Lake you can see a large concentration of migratory birds. There are equipped swimming places, it is allowed to fish. For those who love nature, a guided walk along the paths of the Poda Nature Reserve is constantly organized, which will leave a lot of unforgettable impressions. In the western part of the city lies the largest natural lake in Bulgaria - Vaya.
In addition, there are many museums. Inspection of them is recommended to start with the Historical District, which is famous for its magnificent collection of objects from the old Black Sea colonies. The Ethnographic Museum will delight guests with its collection of traditional kuker masks, ritual attributes and household items. Natural science is interesting for its exhibits, which talk about the geological features of the earth and the entire region, about insects and reptiles, about animals and plants. Visiting the Art Gallery, you can see the beautiful works of Bulgarian artists.
