Residents of the capital get tired of the bustle and smog and dream of outdoor recreation. Unfortunately, in a metropolis this is not always possible, but those who live in the Losino-Ostrovsky district of Moscow are lucky. They can go for a walk in Jamgar park at any free minute.
Park history
On the bank of the Ichka River in 1906, the estate was built by brothers from an Armenian family named Dzhamgarov. They were the owners of a banking house with a huge turnover at that time. Here was their estate, and the brothers landscaped this territory of Moscow. Unfortunately, the estate itself was not preserved, it was destroyed by the Soviet government. Before the Great October Revolution, the Dzhamgarov brothers, foreseeing misfortune, sold the banking house and all their property and went to Europe.
Jamgar park more closely resembles a well-groomed forest. Here you will be met by lindens, birches, tall pines. Parents with strollers and kids are happy to walk along the asphalt paths. There are sandboxes and swings for older children. On beautiful and comfortable benches, old women from neighboring high-rise buildings are gracefully seated.
Kebabs in nature
Jamgar park has previously suffered from fires more than once. After that, the authorities decided to improve the place for rest and cooking kebabs. Now there are gazebos with barbecue facilities, a lot of garbage cans.
Dzhamgarovsky pond
In the center of the park is the Dzhamgarovsky pond. It is surrounded by the perimeter of a wooden promenade. Its depth is 2.5 meters, and the area is 13.5 hectares. Crucian carp, perch, roach, and pike are caught in the lake. In the pond you can see many varieties of ducks.
Bathing and sad statistics
As they say, in every barrel of honey there may be a fly in the ointment. Such is the forbidden swimming in the Dzhamgarovsky pond. Vacationers, especially citizens who have taken alcohol, do not respond to a hazard warning sign. There are no rescue towers here, and if you call the Ministry of Emergencies, they will arrive no earlier than 15 minutes later.
There is a cemetery on the other side of the pond, and there are legends that when the shore washed up, coffins came up. There is no evidence of this. Now the shore has been strengthened, but the quality of the water leaves much to be desired, cadaveric poisons get into the reservoir, the water is dirty.
Drinking alcohol is prohibited here, this is followed by employees of the medical center and the police. There is an official fine. Money goes to the treasury, and then allocated to the needs of the park. Unfortunately, there are sad statistics - in the pond over the past few years, more people have drowned than in any other body of water in Moscow.
You can turn to doctors here if someone is feeling unwell in the sun. Moms with children know that here you can handle ragged knees.
Jamgar Park: how to get to the recreation area
There is a bus number 50 to the park, which you need to catch at the Medvedkovo metro station. There is another route. From the metro station "Babushkinskaya" take the number 181 bus to the stop "Musical school". You can go to the next, it is called "Startovaya Street". If you need the Yaroslavl direction, you should take any bus at the Los station.
Entertainment center "Aurora" and gondolas
After a walk through the picturesque places, your appetite is sure to go on a walk. You can visit the entertainment center "Aurora". It is located right by the pond. Lunch or drink soft drinks by the water is pleasant.
The prices in the entertainment center are moderate, and for a small amount you can thoroughly eat. The three-story building has a karaoke club, a children's room, and billiards.
A local attraction is a few gondolas that can be seen from the shore. They belong to the entertainment center. Not Venice, of course, but for Moscow this is an unusual sight. It's funny that they park next to cars, but if necessary, they are quickly launched into the water.
If you get to the Losinoostrovsky district, then be sure to visit the Jamgar park. Photos in the bosom of nature you will make extraordinary! Jamgarovka is good at any time of the year. Autumn is fabulous, shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow. Spring is emerald and fresh, like meltwater. In summer, you can hide from the heat and get a charge of vivacity and energy. And in winter, a frozen pond awaits guests with skates! There are slides here, from which kids come down with a laugh, there are fights with snowballs.
