If you have ever been to Yalta, you have undoubtedly heard or seen the Livadia Palace, on an excursion to which tourists from all over Crimea come. However, not all vacationers know that the name of the royal residence was given in honor of the village of the same name, which exists to this day.
Livadia ... Reviews of tourists about it are somewhat contradictory. But nobody remains indifferent to this place.
Today, the number of inhabitants of the village is about two and a half thousand people. The close proximity to Yalta provided this settlement with a huge number of vacationers, especially in the hot season. A mild warm climate with an average daily temperature of +23 ° C, an impressive number of trees specially planted for the royal family (fir, spruce, pine, hornbeam, arborvitae brought from all over the world), a warm sea and clean mountain air are all Livadia.

Reviews not satisfied with rest in these places are based on the fact that, firstly, it takes a very long time to go down to the sea, and it is also difficult to go up. In addition, many do not like pebble beaches, which are so narrow that with a slightly increased sea swell, which happens here quite often, umbrellas and sun loungers are practically washed away by the wave. Well, and most of all complaints about prices: they say, the cost of living in both the private sector and in sanatoriums is sky-high, but the service remained at the "soviet" level.
These complaints are quite understandable, because, indeed, Livadia (unanimous reviews of vacationers) offers a vacation comparable in price to Yalta. However, what did you want? This village is also Yalta. Livadia, which is administratively considered a separate population unit, in practice, like Miskhor, Gaspra, and other villages near the main resort of Crimea, refers to the so-called Big Yalta. And naturally, the prices for living in the city center or on its outskirts are not much different. After all, the main thing for vacationers in the Crimea is the sea and mountains, which are equally beautiful in Yalta and in its environs.

Regarding the long routes to the sea and back that Livadia offers, the reviews of lovers of hiking, on the contrary, are the most laudatory. Firstly, it is very healthy for the body. Secondly, the descent to the sea in Livadia passes either through Livadia Park, or simply past the beautiful green spaces that were created here for the king himself. Is it not pleasant to admire what was intended only for the crowned eyes? In addition, special elevators, which are plentiful here, can take the road back if desired. For vacationers in local sanatoriums, their services are free, the cost for all others is comparable to travel in public transport.
In general, a vacation in Livadia is not much different from a vacation in any other place on the southern coast of Crimea. Amazing nature makes you turn a blind eye to some service errors inherent in these places. But if you love Crimea, then you will love Livadia, because it is one of the most beautiful places on the peninsula. After all, it was not for nothing that the village was chosen for the construction of the royal summer residence, which today is one of the most striking architectural pearls of Crimea.
