Serpukhovskaya metro station, one might say, is not particularly remarkable for either Muscovites themselves or guests of the Russian capital. However, it was she who was assigned one of the most important roles in the life of a huge and noisy city.

So, the metro station "Serpukhovskaya" ... Its foundation is considered to be the eighth of November 1983. When architects together with the designers planned the construction, in the project "Serpukhovskaya" was called "Dobryninskaya". At that time, a station with the same name already existed on the Koltsevaya metro line. In order to avoid confusion and for the convenience of passengers, it was decided to rename the new station. The name was taken from a street located in the immediate vicinity.

The three-vaulted station was laid at a depth of forty-three meters underground. Tall columns have metal inserts, and the track walls are lined with white marble. There is no pathos and magnificent decor here. The idea of ββdesigning the station is dedicated to ancient cities near Moscow. In the foreground, naturally, appears Serpukhov.

fluorescent lamps. In 2006, the light system had to be dismantled, because the built-in lamps were out of order, and they could not be replaced. Today, Serpukhovskaya is illuminated using conventional
fluorescent lights that are attached to the pylons.
Section 3. Metro "Serpukhovskaya". Characteristics
From Serpukhovskaya you can go to the Koltsevaya metro line. Climbing one of the four escalators located at the northern end of the hall, you will find yourself at Dobryninskaya.
You can enter the city by walking through the underground lobby. If you wish, you can get to the streets of Bolshaya Serpukhovskaya, Lyusinovskaya and Shchipok or to be on Strochenovskiy or Stremyanny lanes.
