In each group, they differ in length. Shoe pads are numbered according to the metric system, which is equal to the foot length in centimeters. The interval between adjacent numbers is half a centimeter. Even those shoe pads that are of equal length can be characterized by different fullness (transverse size), which also has a numbering from 1 to 7 (sometimes 9).
But that's not all! Depending on the shape of the bow, the height of the heel and the height of the heel, shoe pads are divided into several groups: without a heel, low (raised up to 2.5 cm), medium (3-4 cm), high (5-6 cm), particularly high (over 6 cm) heel. Depending on the design, they are still divided into sliding, solid and wedged options.
For sewing shoes with the internal formation of blanks, sliding pads are used.

The basis of the pads can be a variety of materials. A lingering look is made of hornbeam and beech wood. Pads intended for the manufacture of booties, sandals, slippers, children’s and children’s shoes are usually made of birch. There are metal and plastic devices.
The stretching type of pads is indispensable in the event that you need to stretch the boots or shoes without deforming them. This device helps to slightly increase the size and change the shape of patent leather, leather, suede and other shoes made of natural materials. Unnatural materials such as artificial leather should not be exposed. Using this type of pads, you can stretch the length and width of different parts of shoes or boots, except for lifting.
