10 kopecks in 1990. Gift for collectors

The cost of a coin of 10 kopecks in 1990 is quite low. Although it has some value, but on the world market there are a large number of such copies, and moreover in excellent condition. Due to the small turnover, this coin has not undergone any changes, so the price of it will not rise soon.

10 kopecks 1990

The dimensions of 10 kopecks in 1990 remained the same as during the reign of Nicholas 2. For its manufacture, copper-nickel alloy was used, which contributed to an increase in weight by 1.6 grams. Let's now look at the coin in more detail.

Obverse

On the main side of the coin below we see four capital letters of the name of the state - the USSR, above them in the center - the country's coat of arms with the image:

  • a sickle and a hammer, against which the globe is located;
  • a little star above him;
  • the rising sun under the planet;
  • frames from ears of wheat;
  • 15 turns of tape around the ears.

Few people know, but the number of turns that interweave wheat symbolizes the number of republics that were part of the Soviet Union. Therefore, there are 15 of them by chance.

An experienced numismatist, looking only at the obverse of a given coin, will be able to immediately determine its rarity and approximate value. To do this, you must notice any defect that distinguishes it from other copies, but unfortunately, there are no such defects in this coin. That is why 10 kopecks of 1990 is not an expensive rarity. Let's turn the coin over and look at it from the other side.

Reverse

In the upper part is the face value of the coin “10” in large print, under it is the inscription “kopecks”, and at the very bottom - the year of issue “1990”. On both sides of the coin is framed by the likeness of a wreath of oak leaves and an ear.

It is also worth noting that the coins were minted not only in the Moscow Mint, but also in Leningrad. At that time, none of the mints put their distinctive sign. Therefore, they can be distinguished only by the numbers of the year of issue: the Leningrad yard produced coins with large numbers, and the Moscow - on the contrary.

Gift to collectors

In 1990, the Mint in Moscow issued unique copies that have their own sign - “M”. There are only a few such coins, so they are considered very rare. Some avid collectors are ready to buy this unique coin for fabulous money.
