A very interesting ski resort Kaprun (Austria) has gained particular popularity due to its almost year-round work. Geographically, it belongs to the district of Salzburg, by the number in it there are hardly 3,000 people. Kaprun is one of two ski resorts that make up the European Sports Region (ECP).

A 20-minute drive from the town is Mount Kitzsteinhorn (3203 m), or the Kaprun Glacier, as tourists call it because of the unpronounceability. Snow cover does not leave the mountain either in winter or in summer, which makes it an ideal place for ski slopes. Nearby is the picturesque Lake Celsk.
Ski slopes
Two riding areas. The first is Mount Maiskogel (1675 m), it is its slopes that are more convenient for beginners, family skating and practicing equipment. There are 2 blue and 1 red tracks - wide and comfortable, accessible by lifts: for adults - a 15-minute drive from the town, and children’s can be reached on foot. Very close is a family amusement park. The ski season is from December to April. Another zone is on the glacier itself. Starting from a height of 3029 m, there are more serious tracks here: blue and conditionally black. At the level of 2452 m there is a superpipe and a fan park, in which special tracks for snowboarders are laid. A very pleasant moment: in the area located on the glacier, all tracks are illuminated until 22.00.

The medieval castle of the 12th century, where knightly tournaments, weddings, festivals, a museum of old cars and a historical one are held, is far from all the outstanding places of the town of Kaprun. Austria has preserved very few monuments of Gothic architecture, so tourists are strongly recommended to visit the modest parish church of St. Margarita, designed in this style. Another interesting attraction is the camp, laid out at an altitude of 2500 m of the Kaprun glacier. It consists of 11 ice huts, and in one of them, in the middle of the wonderful world of snow and ice, it is possible to spend the night if there is not enough thrill.

For a change, vacationers go around the lake on a tram or go on an excursion to the mine. A very popular disco at the Baum Bar.
