Description
The Lokomotiv Stadium (Simferopol) was built in 1967 and reconstructed in 2004. He was considered one of the best in Ukraine, where the matches of the USSR team were held.

History
Lokomotiv Stadium Simferopol was built in 1863. The decision to build it was made after Kiev officials, in view of the lack of necessary sports infrastructure, stopped the transition to Class A from the predecessor of Tavria - Simferopol Avangard.
A vast area near the former headquarters of the Tauride Military District was chosen as the territory for construction. On holidays, military demonstrations and parades were usually held here. On ordinary days, lovers played soccer.
The parameters of the area made it possible to place on it the whole complex of necessary infrastructure. In many ways, the convenient landscape facilitated the task for the builders: the central stand of Lokomotiv was erected on a hill. In April 1967, the first match was held at the new stadium.
Lokomotiv football field has always been famous for its perfect lawn. His condition was monitored by N. Mylnikov, former captain of the team. On the “Locomotive” matches of the Olympic and national teams were held.
Here wards V. Lobanovsky beat the Turks (score: 2: 0). As a result, they received the right to participate in the 1990 World Cup. In October 1990, the Soviet youth team defeated the Yugoslavs (3: 1) and won the last gold.
In Soviet times, the stadium could not accommodate everyone.
Reconstruction
The history of the stadium remembers several reconstructions. In 1980 (Tavria played in the Premier League), the lighting system was modernized at Lokomotiv. In the early 2000s, plastic seats were installed. The capacity after this decreased (up to 20 thousand people).
In 2013, a training field with artificial turf laid on it was reconstructed at the stadium. Planned completion of the podium. Its internal premises should become a new office for IC Tavria.
Today, Lokomotiv still needs to be updated.
