A small Spanish town, cozy and charming, which will be the starting point of our trip, is called Pollensa. It is protected by mountains, washed by the sea and is distinguished by the amazing harsh beauty of huge inaccessible rocks. The combination of centuries-old pine trees with warm gentle beaches is exactly what delights many tourists of the region. And this is only the first impression, because all is eclipsed by Cape Formentor in Mallorca, where you can see simply stunning landscapes.
First you need to visit the hill of Puig de Calvari in Pollensa, where more than one hundred steps lead. There are a total of three hundred and sixty-five, but along the way you can rest and enjoy the aromas of heady air. Upstairs you can admire the surroundings of antiquity. So, Puig de Maria belongs to the XV century, the monastery of Santo Domingo, along with a charming Roman bridge - to the XIV. The beauty and inviolability of ancient buildings is amazing here.
Cape Formentor, Mallorca. How to get there on your own
After enjoying the magnificent views of Pollensa and its ancient architecture, you can go to Cape Formentor in Mallorca. In this place, everything that previously aroused admiration will seem dull and boring. Since new types and emotions will be an order of magnitude stronger. Let's start with the mountain serpentine that connects Pollensa with the end point - the lighthouse. Riding it is still a pleasure. The road bends like a snake, already a few meters away - a turn, beyond which, of course, nothing is visible. It seems that the oncoming cars are going directly on the forehead, and on the other hand there is a dimensionless abyss. In addition, the road is full of cyclists, which is for the best - cars have to adhere to a very reasonable speed.
Dangers on the road
You should not be afraid of reckless people when you drive along the serpentine road to Cape Formentor in Mallorca. The drivers here are very neat, giving way to each other and pedestrians. Getting lost will also fail - there are so many pointers that it is easier to get lost in three pine trees. And the highway from Pollensa to the lighthouse leads only one thing, there is simply nowhere to turn off the road, in any case you will reach the famous beach. There you can leave your car in the parking lot and go to the famous beach. A photo of Cape Formentor in Mallorca is simply not able to convey all its beauty, so itβs better to see it with your own eyes. This is one of the most visited places in Spain. And if you have such an opportunity, be sure to visit there.
Cape location
The cape itself is located at the northern end of the Spanish island and already from the plane represents a magnificent sight - a narrow and winding hulk that resembles a huge man sunbathing in the sun with his arms outstretched. The view from the cape is even more fantastic. Vast expanses of sea, mountain ranges protruding into the sea terrifying majestic cliffs and a small wild island of Kolomera. Having left the car in the parking lot at Formentor beach, tourists can immediately go down to the famous fairytale beach or go to the lighthouse of Cape Formentor in Mallorca.
Panorama and views
The cape is the extreme northern point of the entire island. Here, at a glance, you can see not only the bay of Pollensa, but also another world-famous Spanish resort - the island of Menorca. True, if the weather is lucky. On a rainy stormy day, visibility drops significantly. But even in a storm, the view from the lighthouse is simply stunning - surging waves shatter into smithereens on the rock on which the lighthouse is located. An incredible sight is not for the faint of heart. At this moment, you especially feel your insecurity before the elements.
Cape Formentor lighthouse itself (Cap de Formentor) is located at an altitude of 300 meters above sea level. This area is especially popular among tourists, although Formentor and Pollensa are not considered crowded places - it is forbidden to build large hotels here and you will not find noisy establishments. Unless the artists come here in large numbers. Views of such beauty on the entire planet are rare.
Cape Formentor in Mallorca. Tourist route
The best way to get to the lighthouse and Formentor beach is to rent a car. A bus also runs from Pollensa beach, but it leaves only once a day at 10:15 and arrives at about twelve in the afternoon. Not the best option, so if you have a choice, it is better to rent a car. The last option is also supported by the fact that the bus only reaches the viewing platform, from which it is far to walk far to the beach and the lighthouse and it is unrealistic to reach. Most of the beauties in this case remain behind the scenes.

Another quite acceptable option is a taxi, but it needs to be ordered in advance by phone. The town of Pollensa is small and it is unrealistic to quickly find a taxi. On it you can first get to the observation deck, then go to the beach and the lighthouse, take a quiet walk while the car is waiting, and then go home on it. A visit to Cape Formentor must be included in the trip program if you are in Mallorca. This is really a wonderful place, after which there will be a lot of positive impressions.
